Ibuprofen is something I steer clear of as it can be bad for the kidneys (or my my case kidney]. Paracetamol isn’t great for the liver but at least that can repair itself (he writes, taking another swing of beer).

I always say to people that Paracetamol is one of the best and safest pain killers you can get over the counter, as long as you stick to the correct dosage.
Co-Codamol is the next step up but be aware the codeine can lead to constipation.

I blindly take neurofen when I have a headache, and normally go all out for the express red capsules as I believe they contain sodium, which speeds up absorption I think? Staines? I’ll think again from now on.

I’m sure if you are fit, you are not popping them daily and stick to the dosing schedule, and your blood pressure is ok there will be no problem.

Its about what and where the pain is mate. For dental pain I swear by IBP as helps with the inflamation....same with muscle or joint pain.
Paracetamol is, in my opinion, the better painkiller for headaches.
The sodium thing is a new one on me and might be the case......but is it worth paying 10 times as much for it working 5-10 mins quicker ?

Full credit to you and your colleagues Staines. My sis in law (one of many) is a NHS nurse in the community for the elderly and vulnerable. A paper thin mask and rubber gloves amounts to her ppe. An ever decreasing supply of hand sanitizer doesn't help either. What really shocks me is that people like her and yourself haven't been tested. She is visiting daily to old folk on their last legs without even knowing whether she's had it or got it. It comes as no surprise that the death rate is increasing and these are the only numbers that are truly correct.

It surprises a lot of us too mate. It seems the obvious thing to do so we can know if we are ‘safe’ or not.

Just to add to that, last week alone her team dealt with two deaths. Still unknown as to whether coronavirus related or not but this disease is getting spread unknowingly and unintentionally due to inadequate testing and lack of PPE. They have been promised better equipment for nearly a week now!

Logic and common sense seems to be in short supply from many walks of life during this pandemic!

Another thing to note is that before all this blew up, a lot of our jobs were elderly fallers (or ‘Nanna’s down’ as they are affectionately known in the trade) or MH crisis......now it’s all DIB and flu like symptoms.
So where have these calls vanished to ?
Either they never needed us in the first place (unlikely) or are now having to fend for themselves and lie in their own piss for hours with a broken NOF (Probably)

Unfortunately as a driver ( not yet confined to home) the things I saw today were beyond f*cking belief AGAIN !!!
A family of 5 (3 kids) were actually sat in a lay-by with a pop up table and chairs having a f*cking picnic, totally oblivious to the abuse and horns aimed at them, I seriously believe that some people are just too bloody stupid to comprehend.

I’ll try swapping next time my head is pounding. Let me know if you find out about the sodium thing, just out of curiosity.
