So the French recorded 208k cases in last 24hrs and now it's martial law. If you are a UK resident you can't return home as you are barred from roads and banned from Euro tunnel. Bloody lucky I didn't go in the end. Poor people who will be stuck.

Fortunately you can trust our government not to do this.

    Fair comment mate.
I do wonder whether we could reduce the absentees from work if we weren't told to isolate simply because we've been in contact with someone with Omicron.
We wouldn't do this with the common cold or even flu, unless we were feeling really poorly.

At some point we've got to drag ourselves out of this perpetual cycle imo.

If you don’t use the test & trace app, Col, you don’t get pinged.

My bloody administrator at work tested positive a few days before Xmas and decided to provide the NHS with the names, email addresses & mobile numbers of everyone (including myself) that she got within farting distance to. The next minute we all get texts & emails the day before Xmas Eve telling us to self-isolate for 10 days.

I thought that was a flippin’ liberty, particularly as she hadn’t told us she was going to do it. Thankfully the website (once I’d entered further details) said I didn’t have to self-isolate. It occurred to me that you could enter anybody’s details for fun.

The whole thing is a disgrace; the threat has passed and it’s now no worse than seasonal flu. Are we going to lockdown every year for that now?

Happy New Year fellow Rs; let’s hope it’s less ****e than the last two.

Test & trace has to be the biggest amount of money ever wasted. As long as someone got rich from it, everything is fine

We all know how this has started and how china covered it up.
They destroyed all the data... Why?
They say it wasn't manufactured in a lab but say it could have come from an American lab? <doh>
There is now questions being asked about the so called animal link and the wet market theory.
Funny how it all coniensides with many things China seems to be doing.
If it does turn out to be them then the World needs to act.

You wont get any arguements from me. I believed for all of 5 seconds that this began in a wet market.

Of course mate. That's how it works. When Tories are in the make money with contacts and the same with Labour.

I'm not at the stage of calling the whole thing a disgrace yet.
I think it's understandable that we continue to be cautious.
Imo, England are playing it correctly right now, as Omicron continues to prove to be relatively mild.
If the data continues with this trend I see no need for further lockdown type restrictions for Omicron.

To be honest Bob I was a bit naive at the start. I actually thought it was due to dirty sods at that market. Then after they stopped the WHO from investigating and all the things China has been up to of late... It wasn't hard to think differently.
People disappearing/ that Dr who questioned the origin “got” covid died within 24hrs and cremated <doh>they really do think we are that gullible?
Trump said it from the start but sadly no one listened to him because he was an idiot. The new bloke is asleep to it.
Fortunately people are waking up now and questioning.
Only one winner from this virus and that's china.

    One more thing of interest....
In late 2019 I was going to France and needed some dusk masks and as usual I went to Toolstation to buy some. Sadly they had none in stock. I went to France and returned. Once again I tried to buy masks and they had sold out in Toolstation/ScrewFix and Wickes. The fella said all stock was bought by names wong/Chong and every other Chinese name.
This was before Covid hit. Maybe they knew something we didn't?
