this year it was supposed to rise again as per Tony Blairs agreement yet we are paying 3 times more than the next highest Germany only gives 1 bill we are giving 13 bill each year and have to borrow to do it now we have run up large debts because of covid we are reducing, mainly health and cost of vaccines will be paid for by the savings.Is the 70% going to ex service personnel then....no doubt that's a
Is there a more work shy group during this pandemic than teachers.
The first wave saw no teaching for my kid at home. Zip, nada, nothing. Just a few worksheets to fill in which they never marked or looked at.
Last couple of weeks have seen online lessons reduced from 3 a day to 2 a day and then we have to homeschool the other lesson. Then on top of that they now have Thursdays off because they are spending too much time looking at screens. Ironically the kids work on Thursdays can be found online!?!?
Today school was cancelled due to snow! Its online learning you lazy ****ers! They went with the reason that it would be good for kids mental health to play in the snow. I'll tell you what might help with kids mental health....maybe a bit of a normal routine like schooling 5 days a week from a teacher! Me and my wife work full time. I can't ring work and tell them that I am building a snow man to make me feel better can I?
On top of all this I constantly hear how brave teachers are and how well they are doing. Well the lazy ****ers can do one! It was released a couple of weeks ago that teachers may be pushed to the front of the vaccination queue. Then it was published that the people most likely to die with coronavirus are factory workers. Teachers surprisingly to the media were near the bottom of the list. It didn't surprise me...the ****ers haven't done anything for months at a time.

To be honest I think you are just unlucky with what your child is being offered. I know there has been alot of effort put in by my colleagues (secondary) and my daughter ([primary) into what is a new way of teaching/learning. Although I aren't a teacher I know that everything I am doing is trying to find new ways to get information to the students and having to change things to adapt. That saying, I know you aren't wrong with what you are saying either as it all depends on the leadership and doing what is best for the children.

It seems to me that they are constantly looking for excuses not to do the job they are paid to do....and they are getting away with it.
Granted they are doing better this lockdown than the first but every week they seem to come up with an excuse not to do something. What that means to us as parents is that we have to take up the slack when we already work full time jobs. I literally don't have time to sleep through the week and yet I will have to listen to tomorrow's lesson with the teacher saying how much fun they had in the snow today.
That's before I even start on the impact on my kids education.
Spot on Emu, the only saving grace is the children aren't being indoctrinated into leftwing marxism whilst this bollox is going on
Sorry to hear about your ongoing problems with home schooling Emu.
Every school is different and it seems yours is not really stepping up.
My son has 6 online lessons per day as per the regular school timetable. If he hasn't logged in and attended then I'll get a phone call or email later asking if there was any problem/issue. All his work is marked and if he's failed to submit his work on time then again I'll be contacted. Online group lessons are also held for PE & games or he can elect to do them later in his own time. It's far from ideal, but is way better than the 1st round of school closures, so I'd say a lot of effort has been made by some schools and teachers to deliver something approaching the normal school curriculum.
Obviously none of this helps you and I genuinely get where you're coming from so hang in there

I know where you are coming from and it must be so frustrating for you. I know how hard things have been for one of my other daughters and son-in-law who are in key worker jobs and have been working hard through it all. They can't physically teach the kids as well. The first lockdown the two younger ones were in school but I can't say they did the learing that others were doing at home. This time they seem to be coming on leaps and bounds in school. Hope things work out for you.
