Some bad news and some good news on the CORVID-19 front. Bad news, a number of the crew of "Masked Singer" have been found to be C-19 positive. Good news, they've taken the show off TV. Hoo-bloody-ray. What a load of crap that was.

'Course, it could be just a good excuse because apparently it wasn't rating that well anyway.
Least wearing a mask they will have protected others they may have come in contact with.

Australian state of Victoria seems to be in a mess, with a curfew after 8pm coming into effect in Melbourne <yikes>, let's hope Boris has leant some lessons this time.
The curfew is still in place and new cases are down to 11 per day. Victoria will be lifting restrictions in Melbourne to some extent at the end of Sept if the figures stay under control and hoping to be back open in time for Christmas. So it has taken probably 10 weeks to get this out break in check and probably another 10 weeks to open up. There have been curfews, people not allowed to leave their houses except exceptional circumstances, compulsory mask wearing etc. I hope you get your new outbreak under control soon as the restriction used in Victoria were harsh but effective. Victoria had a peak of 750 new cases a day.

Sorry, can't agree, Eric. The reason the numbers are down is because of the restrictions, lift them and the numbers will rise again. Not rocket science. We, Qld, have our border restrictions which are keeping us fairly safe but that's just a barrier, not a cure. Lifting the restrictions is just the same as people breaking the lock-down rules.

Mate, I'm violently agreeing with you.

Can't stay locked down for ever, pubs seem to be a big contributor here, and need to be closed for a few weeks or allowed to serve food at tables with beer but no bar drinking.

We're definitely at the start of a second wave and a lot of businesses wouldn't survive a full lockdown again. I have a feeling we'll see more of a focus on keeping hospitals within capacity more than anything else. That will be harder over the winter than it was during the spring.

The country is running out of Flu Jabs for the under 65s there are plenty for the over 65s which is a different kind.

Considering we’ve run out of vaccines for those aged between 50-65 can you imagine how long it would take to get us all vaccinated against Covid if they do find a vaccine?

The Flu vaccine has been around for years, several months ago the government announced it would be free to over 50s yet the supplier has still run dry.

The thing is the flu vaccine this year is probably not the same as last years as the flu virus changes, Covid-19 probably does as well.

On the plus side there were hardly any cases of flu here last winter due to the rules in place for covid-19

I’m lucky I get a free one working for the pharmacy but funny you should mention that as the previous two years I didn’t notice a thing. This year my arm was very tender for a couple of days and through the night immediately after the jab I woke up feeling like I was going to come down with something nasty. Definitely effected me more this year..

Most of the health people that came on TV here said that if you think you have got the flu it is more likely to be covid-19 and you should get tested.

Had mine last sat, nothing at all, you sure you southerners aren't playing on it ?
Don't seem to have run out here either as thousands are done every day, very impressive way they are doing it as well, no queues, done in about 1 min and back out again.

Boots and a few others Nationwide are putting them on hold, it was on the news Yesterday. Plenty left for the over 65s but the rest are being held back for the vulnerable. the Pharmacy I deliver for are also out if stock and are turning people away, national shortage, think WHO made a mention of a shortage too so not just here
