Problem is that tourism pays the Bill's in Spain. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
We have to put the UK first, and leave Spain to look after themselves, most of our covid came from Spain, Italy, France etc, first wave. We can't allow it to happen again.

Australian state of Victoria seems to be in a mess, with a curfew after 8pm coming into effect in Melbourne <yikes>, let's hope Boris has leant some lessons this time.

How many of you lot are back in lockdown then?

I'm surrounded by areas back in lockdown but my area is like a beacon of shining light eminating from the bleakness of a never ending cloud of despair.

I work in a lockdown area. Wife works in another lockdown area. We live in a 'safe' area and we are allowed to roam free.

All OK in Cheshire, really don't want the going backwards thing, would be a nightmare.

This was because the Premier of the state caved in to pressure to relax restrictions. Big protest assemblies and open bars. They/he asked for it. Our Premier (Queensland) was adamant that restrictions should remain in place and we were pretty safe up here. However, now that the border with NSW has been opened we are beginning to have more cases. NSW have allowed a Muslim religious assembly of some 400 people. Madness.

Manchester figures are rising. Is that near you?

Problem areas seem to be high density population areas. Spreading through young people and in Asian communities. Certainly over my way (craven district) that seems to be the case.

About 35 miles to Manchester with some posh lower populated areas inbetween, which will hopefully slow any spread.

Over all we still have very few cases. I think in Queensland we have about twenty active cases since the border was opened. Of course we had the two women who tried to dodge the column and lie about their past movements and both proved positive to the virus. They have, by their actions, infected a number of other people, caused schools to be closed down and age care homes to be locked down. This was all because they wanted to go to Melbourne, Victoria, to do some shop lifting!!

Northampton is a risk area, we need to be extra cautious otherwise extra restrictions will be put in place. Leicester is supposed to be in lockdown but I drove through it yesterday and there looked no difference to anywhere else.

Live in Calderdale so can't socialise indoors. Mate turns up half way through the cup final yesterday (you can't turn them away can you).

Escaped to Tadcaster today for a golf day, thankfully no travel restrictions. They were serious with precautions after the round with the circles drawn outside for people to enjoy a drink in a max group of 6. Nice lovely plastic cups too.

My suspicion is that they were transporting stuff to that party rather than indulging in a bit of acquisition, if you see what I mean.

Spain 5700 cases today, how the fook has it gone so bad so quick. <yikes>
I wonder if the Spanish government are still lobbying our government to reduce the quarantine rules.
Set of barstewards couldn’t give a dam about anyone but themselves the sooner we are out of the eu the better

Spain do not update their figures over the weekend, but various areas, including madrid did not update on monday either, so that is for some regions 4 days figures.
Also their track and trace system is getting better so they test all people who have been in contact with a positive case.
More than 60% of these cases are asintomatic.
Also the people being admitted to hospital is very low, as are new deaths.
The age of people now being positive is in the 20 to 50 range. Not the over 65s like in march and april.
Spain was hit very hard and did very well in the lockdown, but as restrictions are eased people are more movile and this was allways going to happen.
They are very strict on masks in public, but that goes out of the window when people have house parties.
Also a lot of the younger generation think they are immune and couldn't care less.
If it carrries on like this we will be back in lockdown, maybe not a bad idea.
