They were quoting an article in the Times
The government haven’t got a bottomless pit,
the minute the lockdown is lifted infections will start again. Big companies can’t last past the summer, the government won’t be able to pump any further funds in for too much longer so realistically where does it end. It’s easy to say sit it out and if it takes until the end of the year fine but the reality is that isn’t going to be an option.
They cant get the testing done quick enough so forget a cure this year. I’m not trying to argue what I feel is right or wrong, just trying to be realistic that the economy will not permit for this to continue until the year end.
I agree we might not see another sporting event or concert this year but that alone won’t stop the spread, the true fact seems to be we’re all going to be exposed to this virus one day, there isn’t an escape from it.
Going back to company bosses, many are sitting on very healthy bank accounts of their own. Do they get to a stage where they cut their losses and enjoy living off what they have or do they try and weather this out and risk losing their own fortunes?
