Afternoon all,Day 6 of lockdown update.
I went to the supermarket earlier, totally normal, shelves were packed, people buying normal amounts, no queue at checkout.
Only thing is you have to wear gloves, they supply them.
Bumped into a mate so we had a couple of tinnies in the carpark, closest we'll get to a pub for some time.

Saw this on Twitter. Either Shaks or Olof went out with a shopping list today and went off piste...

I'm sensing a feeling of complacency both from the government and the general population.

Perhaps this might help focus minds...

Italy on 4th March 3089 confirmed cases with 107 deaths
Italy on 19th March 41035 confirmed case with 3505 deaths ( recovered/discharged cases 4440 = 47%, deaths 3505 = 43% )

UK on 19th March 3269 confirmed case with 144 deaths
UK on 3rd April.........?????????????????????????????

In 15 days time we might all be wishing we'd taken an earlier and much more effective approach.

You know I don't often say this but I think you are right. The horse has bolted and all that can be done now is to try and slow it down until a vaccine or an effective treatment is found. Our numbers aren't as high as the UK and we still only have 6 deaths but the rate of infection seems similar the world over. Ours is currently quite dramatic

Italy is fairly unique in that Italian families stay together - not uncommon to have 4 generations in the same house.

Germany is completely different - and their numbers are far less severe. (44 dead out of 15000 infected)

I think Germany are very much at the beginning of their upward curve.

Time will tell but I wish every country and every citizen well.

Did they have 500 a day dying ?

Honestly I don't know...do you ?
No I don't mate but I would hazard a guess its more than have died from Corbyn19
last count in the UK this year 231 people have died from flu
things need perspective, all this mass hysteria is causing havoc with the sheeple

I’ve said it before and I could be accused of banging the same drum too much but our society stinks self self self above anything
I’ve already written to my MP regarding food supplies
I am currently self isolating and fairly well of for food as the wife has always kept a good stock However my son went to do some everyday shopping for us this evening
Out of the 29 items on the list he managed to get 11
Where is all the stock, selfish have got it and in my opinion small shopkeepers who have cleared the supermarket shelves to sell in there shop at vastly inflated prices
Supermarkets for all their verbals don’t care as far as they are concerned a sales a sale
Only thing that will sort it is government action

You're doing the right thing 2p...stay home and hopefully stay safe.

Unfortunately a lot of elderly people are not taking that sensible and pragmatic approach. It's absolutely vital that the over 70's help themselves and the nation by staying well. That's not to excuse the younger generation who are the ones both panic buying and not following the governments instructions.

Put simply we are in for far worse before it gets better and listening to the PM on television today was a huge disappointment, he has to hammer home the message with far greater authority in my opinion.

Similar situation here in LA. Not sure it’s shopkeepers buying up supermarket inventory but same effect.

Thanks for that information Eric...

Very useful indeed and should be made available to as many as possible to avoid some of the presumptions which seem to be influencing peoples opinions and behaviour.
