we have established that the offer on the table means Snodgrass will pick up something between £14-£20k if he signs, meaning that if he chooses to leave to go to a Premiership side straight away he will be branded a greedy unloyal mercenary and Ken will be able to say "What can i do?, we can't compete with the wages Premiership sides can pay" .

Bromby is apparently on 14k & it was me that suggested 20k from a prem club so you cant make anything out of that. I wouldn't like to second guess how much Snod will be offered. Hopefully its all change but im not holding my breath

I don't think you will see him sign until he see's what kind of players we are bringing in for next season. He heard it before remember, once bitten....

This is a win-win for Bates. Would be good business if he can pull it off.

Sign Snoddy up on a good wage and good contract (4 years at least). If we get promoted, no need to change his contract much. If we don't, then we get a hefty transfer fee.

The other scenario is more risky. Snods is made to stay but runs down his last year. We get promoted, he has done his job and we can offer him a better contract in the Prem. We don't get promoted, he just walks away for nowt. For Bates he has saved on the current year's wages.

The third scenario is he does not sign up and is sold for £3m. Money in the pocket for Bates but much of it will have to be spent on getting other players in.

The first is a no brainer from a business point of view. But it does require Snoddy to sign up.

"...will have to get spent...?"

WHAT!?!?!?!?

When has KB done anything any of us thought he "had to do?"

Dead straight!

Once again the club has set up the player to look bad if he does not do what they want.

Anyone seriously expect a different result to the JH situation?

I don't.

Fair play to Warnock, great news if we have put a good offer is on the table. Its up to Rob now if he wants to sign on.

If not we sell him & hopefully reinvest in descent wages for his replacement.

PS. He might not get a better offer from a North England club unless Wigan stay up... Norfolk is a long way home on a weekend...

Word on the street down here is Snodgrass is top of Mackay's list and it wouldnt suprise me if we got him, as we have half the Scottish team here already. Looking forward to cementing our place in the playoff's against you saturday week. Be Lucky.

he's not half the player whittingham is, anyway we dont need midfielders...

haha whittingham is the most over rated player in the championship!

He wasnt even that good in the royle family!

Where does this £14k for Bromby come from?

We got him while we were in League 1 from Sheff Utd. Can't see him being on more than £4k a week myself
