Took every last drop out of the club he could, while doing brilliant PR making people believe he was all for them, and put **** all back into it.We had a joke of a youth set u cos of him yet where did all the money go when we were getting 18,000 gates in Div 2. Look at the teams we're playing now, Brentford Barnsley etc, hardly massive clubs yet they invested years ago but Pearson didnt. Clever bullshit right there and we all took it.

Then sold us to a dodgy consortium who mortgaged us to the hilt while he told us they were all above board.

Pearson's an interesting one. He did a lot for City and especially in helping create the platform that got us to here . He had an incredible ability to put into words, the things fans wanted to hear, and he was always approachable and seemed keen to listen to supporters.

I'm not sure of the why's, but Derby fans seemed glad to see the back of him, and a number of FC fans ( I have no idea if it's just a noisy minority) seem less than impressed, saying he acts without listening to fans and surprisingly for me, criticising the poor marketing. AP himself says the academy merger has contributed to a loss of fans and sponsors, which was a significant factor in his decision to leave Leeds.

Is it easier to invest £2m in an academy when it's 3% of your total income, or is it just as easy when it's 20%?

Where did the Allams get the idea of moving the academy to Bishop Burton from?

Whose decision was it to sell the club to Bartlett?

How did you expect Pearson to know what would happen to Bartlett's property portfolio if there was a crash, even if it had been his decision? Maybe he should have known his helicopter wasn't a top of the range model?

I didn't respond in detail to your initial post, as I'm afraid it's fairly obvious that your business knowledge is somewhat limited.

How did Barnsley or Brentford afford it?
Pearson didnt give a **** who he sold the club to but pretended they were great businessmen best interests at heart etc fully knowing they had no money and ut no money into the club. He was only concerned about himself and his boss.

He would take the club backwards, he didn't have a youth team set up and he's just left TWS as his priorities are with the rugby club. He wouldn't give it us the time and commitment that is required

Not wanting to get into an internet argument over this, but, hasn't the 'law of the land' just said that everything he did over the Airco was OK?

Do you think if he bought the club next week attendances would drop or rise? Presumably you and all your many, many Allam fan friends would boycott in protest?
The attendances would stay the same as we seem to level out at these attendances whenever we're in the Championship, I'm not an Allam 'fan friend' but I would probably boycott the club if Pearson was in charge again.

Adam Pearson appears to have taken more money out of Hull City than anybody else over the last decade or so. How much did he take out? Why didn't he pay all the local people he told he couldn't pay, when he first came in and bought the club, when he took his millions out of the club? Didn't Bartlett borrow money from the club to buy it? Did Pearson know this. He might not have been able to invest 20% of the club's income but he could have invested something. He might not have been able to invest 20% of the club's income in youth development but he was able to take however many millions out of the club when he sold it on, setting us on the disaster course we have been on since.
In effect adam Pearson took the value created by the building of the KC, and funnelled it into his pockets. He was a very good administrator while he did it, like.

Anyone know the figures for the SMC?

I've heard it argued that AP's returns during the period the stadium was new, were comparable to the Allams despite the Allams taking over at a time the Stadium needed a significant spend on upkeep that was overdue.

I don't know anything about the history or circumstances at Barnsley or Brentford.

It's with hindsight that we know Bartlett didn't have enough cash, I don't remember many people being concerned about it when we got promoted to the Premier League for the first time in our history.

More complete bollocks.

Firstly, it wasn't Pearson's money, it was Wilkinson's. Adam made a few quid out of his involvement in City, both from his earnings as Chairman and from the sale of the club, but 90% of the money wasn't his and neither was the decision to sell.

Secondly, we had an academy under AP, it just wasn't as good. The figures are not made public, but I suspect there's no difference between the percentage of income spent on the academy by both parties. In fact, if anyone should be criticised for their academy spending, it should be Bartlett, under his tenure the spending on infrastructure at the club was pathetic, he left no legacy at all.

The Allams can be criticised for many things, but at least their spending on infrastructure isn't one of them.

I recall AP saying that the Wilkinson money was a personal loan to him, so the risk and money was his, in the same way it would have been had he borrowed the money from a bank. He sold because Wilkinson called in his loan.
 
We had an Academy equivalent to Non league teams under Pearson. FACT
There's no getting away from it. Other clubs invested in their youth Pearson didnt.
He was a visionary in that he saw a way to make money out of a new stadium. He did nothing after that but make a profit for himself and the owner, as Dutch said no investment in infastructure just in the first team. Then got out asap.

Of course not, they looked at the technical issue of whether there had been a breach of the lease, they didn't concern themselves with the way the Allams behaved.

There are still a great many fans boycotting the KC due to the actions of the owners, though that's largely irrelevant in this debate as AP has no intention of getting involved again.

Having read some of the bollocks posted here, I don't blame him.

Other than agreeing the Allams acted within the law, you've not really shown much to be bollocks, and some of your own arguments didn't stand up.
 
Adam Pearson was a breath of fresh air when he arrived and head and shoulders above every other owner/chairman since Don Robinson. He turned the ship around and guided it to a position where new owners could launch a strike on the Premier League, which they did. I'll be eternally grateful to Sir Adam and I'm shocked that City fans are diminishing his achievements. Yes he was lucky the council built the Stadium which was the catalyst, yes he fronted for Peter Wilkinson, yes he appointed Molby and Parkinson, I dont care. His PR was superb and he raised our profile and restored our dignity and I'm glad he earned a few quid doing it. Thanks Adam.

Hull City Council applied for an injunction, the application was rejected. The council picked the wrong grounds to put their case and lost. That could have been exactly what they wanted.
