Not a very impressive CV, could be a golden nugget or another turkey dipper, time will tell, hope we don't write him off before he has had a decent chance to show what he has got to offer. For some, if a player hasn't got a high seven digit sign on fee, he is bound to be rubbish.

As someone else alluded to on another thread we got Stuey for £6/7m, and Celtic fans said he wasn’t very good and wouldn’t be any good in the premier league.
And thankfully he proved them all wrong.

Classic Saints signing. Nobody saw it coming, and nobody has much heard of him. Perfect.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself but his playing style reminds me Van Dijk

Watching that video (I Know... Steve De Ridder...) it struck me that he is not so right footed as some people suggest. He was very Vesty-esque with his playing out from the back and long passes. Looks like a guy the Saints have been tracking for a while. He has the height and all the qualities we need on the right side of defence. Stephens can also do OK so that would be four decent centre backs we now have (assuming he does actually sign!).

As for CM, I'm pretty relaxed given that Armstrong Diallo and (eventually) Smallbone can back up Romeu and JWP.

Neither Armstrong nor Smallbone are really good fits for the way we use our CMs, though. They're attacking midfielders.

Armstrong had been very highly rated at Celtic the prior season to us signing him, when he sored 15 in the league.

As you know I do like a centre back with long hair, but that beard has to go. :)

Lycano can also play holding midfield and has and has turned out for Torino at LB

Sadly after watching the vid, all I'm imagining is him getting caught on the ball in defence. We've got the position well covered thanks.

Two things I liked from that video and that's not getting dispossessed on the edge of his own penalty area when he has ages to do something and taking charge at the back. Two things Saints have had to sort out in the past few years.

These type of videos are very flattering for defenders. I too can imagine him being dispossessed, his control doesn't seem particularly tight. If these are truly his highlights, Vestergaard would appear the more accomplished on the ball.

That said, I'm certainly looking forward to see him play. Looks like a decent option to have.

It's Lyanco, I have typed it wrong several times while researching! It comes up as a character from World of Warcraft or Lycaon of Arcadia a Greek mytholigical king.
