If you're really trying to lose weight. Yes.
If you prefer the taste of diet. No.
If you're only semi concerned about calories then diet drinks are an easy way to cut out calories without really losing flavour.
I read once that a coke a day equates to 20lb weight gain in the average person. Simply dropping soda over the course of a year can lower calories by 20lbs (if substituted for water)
A pizza meal is 11% fewer calories with a diet drink over a regular. A lot of people could stand losing 11% of weight even if they're not on a diet.
... Although there is evidence that drinking diet actually is worse for your weight because it stimulates your bodies desire for unhealthy foods. By tricking your body into thinking it's getting sugars and not delivering it increases desire. So whereas you get fewer calories from the coke itself... You end up consuming more.
I thin kthe last point is where it gets problems.
The body reacts to aspartame just like it were sugar so it outputs insulin so you are running your pancreas ragged to keep up. It alos his your liver. I think it also affects kidneys and makes your body want to pump the stuff away so you urinate more.
My advice is to follow the old roman rules... drink beer its the healthiest of all.
I am going to drop all suger and nonsugar drinks I think.....
