He's simply a troll, nothing more, nothing less.

His sole aim is to cause discord and he's trying every angle. He's dying on his arse though, as he's not clever enough and is therefore totally trasnparent.
 
RHC. Send Denice over to the 'threads' thread and see if she can't sort it, either through ultra violence or getting them all fooked on knock off cream fields hooch.

Also I apologise if you took offence to my post on there - was just a line of argument. God bless the cheese and all who sail... derail in her.

I don't think he is... or at least, I don't think he intends to be. I think this is what happened in his "path to darkness":

He probably is only very casually a fan, he obviously has very different opinions to most of us on many topics. (probably not as informed... it's harder to stay informed this side of the Atlantic- you're not immersed in football).
He makes posts, and because what he says is so far from general opinion on here- his opinion got slaughtered- and animosity between him and other posters built up.
Eventually it got to the point that his relationship with various other people deteriorated to the point that he and them can't post nicely to each other. Their very presence inflames him, and vice versa.

I've never really viewed him as a troll- never had a problem with him. I think he is out of line at the moment and some of the things he has said are undeserved (early on in the thread he was on the receiving of some undeserved comments too), but I think it is partially because he is so defensive now that he acts out and snaps at very little.

I don't think he is intentionally a troll- I think he has just had one too many confrontational run-ins with people. Probably not thick skinned enough early on- so reacted to negative feedback and started a cycle of attack with other posters.

Unfortunately, I don't think things are going to improve. I think rather than integrate he's going to continue to be a fringe poster who gets into fights with other regulars until he gives up posting here.
I don't think he's a troll though.

You might be right mate, I've not seen as many of his actual football related posts as you have.

Playing devils advocate I could suggest that he deliberately makes his views outlandish in order to gain the attention he craves though.

That said, having outlandish views on the game is nothing new here, this is a kopite board ffs - that also has astro as a member <laugh>

I don't think it's the fact he had a different view that caused him to be marginalised on here, I think its more how he reacted when challenged on it.

I suggest you go a spark a conversation with him and see where it goes. You need to make sure you post at least half a dozen comments each and not agree on things <ok>
