No problem Andy, I enjoy doing it.Had a good old go at this, this morning, NZ. Fascinating stuff. The upward trend on the second chart is interesting, and illustrates how atypical this season is. I like looking at who has played in which matches and finding patterns in the data. Even if the patterns spotted in each chart are not absolutely causal, they do interest me. Thank you for doing this.![]()
Deeney is the heartbeat of our teamSince Deeney’s return, in games he has played more than an hour in:
We lost in a much tighter game against Leicester than the 0-2 suggests.
We drew 0-0 with Palace, and he should’ve had a penalty to win that if Atkinson had been half awake.
He played 90 mins in a creditable performance against Liverpool.
He played 90 mins and scored one in our 2-0 win over Man Utd.
He played 80 mins against Sheffield United and his leadership killed the threat they have otherwise shown so far.
Today, he played 90 mins and scored two against his beloved Villain what is reasonable to describe as a ‘six-pointer’.
Pearson great, yes. But don’t underestimate the power of Deeney.
Dead right. The tweaking of Gerry’s position is smart. Hope Hughes is OK - he is also so integral to our success.Deeney is the heartbeat of our team
Pearson understands this and plays two fast players along side him so he is not fighting a lone battle up front
