FOR ALL time the events surrounding Colston will be talked about. history books show he was a very wealthy man of his own making long before his short flirtation with the slave trade. Also in the years after, when unrelated business transactions allowed him to set up all manner of funds and trusts for the poor and hard done by. Strange how people look at things! Black people traded black people for "trinkets" instead of killing them. traders took them to a second chance lifetime .. they were the forbears of those that today condemn these actions. The treatment of some were not acceptable, and those that died very sad. But the crux is that most of those who made it to ships could have finished up dead before their time, killed by the warring inhabitants of the next village or tribe!

Absolutely we are becoming the favourite dumping ground for the free loaders our country is being invaded and our governments are allowing this to happen.

I'm interested in the hypocrisy of these people, whom I'm sure are benefiting with goods made today, produced in Countries that still use slave labour..
