I do note that for this season the promoted clubs
seem to be incurring a large amount of the burden.
It's an advantage, not a burden as you get more time off than your next opponent.
How is a gap of 4-5 days between two games
(as opposed to a typical 6-7) an "advantage" ??
The Friday game will on average be no advantage to either team. The one after will always favour the team that plays on Friday as they get at least one more day rest.
Back in the days when matches were all on Saturday and weekend matches on Tuesday and Wednesday, playing on Tuesday was an advantage because half the time you would have an extra days rest over the following opponent.
Playing systematically early is always better.
First you claimed there was an advantage.
Now you are claiming that "on average" there is not.
Spurs have had no material physical advantage
in playing friday games this season. Their
opponents OTOH have had an extra 1-2 days
rest between games.
Feel free to show this is not the case (for all
combinations of fixtures preceding/following
the friday games to date) .
The advantage is before the game after the Friday game as was completely clear in my initial reply. There is no reason a priori to expect a disadvantage on the Friday game itself but the advantage before the next game is inevitable because the next opponent has to have played more recently. Therefore Friday games are advantageous. Monday games are disadvantageous by the same logic.

If ITV cannot secure normal FA cup KO times
for prime fixtures, that is THEIR problem not the clubs.
Apart from the utter sacrilege of it, Spurs have had
to endure it TWICE on successive rounds.

revenues of Kings Rd FC at the end of this season
(so the club have done even better
) .
The Poool are similarly now only 50m odd ahead,
but they are generally better performing on-pitch over
tbe past 4 seasons (I expect them to have a decent
PL + CL campaign this season so the revenue gap
should widen quite a bit in the 2024 edition) .
New WHL is having the desired effect, and only the
timing of the Wuhan flu being utterly < standard >
slowed it down.
