Yes, but any kind of investment to help end this ENIC shiete show is welcome. If they are investing they will want to make money, which means regular CL and competing for silverware amongst everything else, which means better players would be needed. That said, Levy would probably take their money and still not spend it.
It’s not really a **** show though is it? There are things with them that royally piss me off, even now with the Porro saga annoys me but it hasn’t been terrible under them, far from it. Outside of City and Chelsea who’ve bought their success, there’s only a couple of other clubs’ owners who pound for pound have been better at developing and improving their team’s stature and fortune and it’s probably fair to say that Chelsea and City’s fast-tracked fortunes has significantly hurt our chances of success because on top of competing with bigger clubs like Utd, Pool and Arsenal, we’ve then had two clubs buy their way to trophies, two of our three League Cup final defeats in recent times have come at the hands of those two clubs and we’ve lost a few semi’s to Chelsea too. Like I said on the Palace thread, there seems to be a weird divide amongst Spurs fans in which some see no right in ENIC and some see no wrong. When realistically fans should be in the middle by seeing the good and bad. We could have better, no doubt about that but we could also have far worse. I’ll definitely welcome the additional investment should it happen, even with a minority stake it’ll be good to get some added finances but also fresh ideas to the running of the club which I’m sure Al-Khelaifi (or whoever it is) could provide.
Which is why fans getting on his back at games really annoys me. I've no problem with people thinking he's a bad player or a bad fit for the team. I agree with them. He doesn't work well in the system and I think that's clear to see. Fans get upset when he's in the starting lineup and are vocal about it. That's not only unhelpful, but it's not even his fault. He can't improve miraculously. If people are pissed off at him being in the team, then they should fault Conte. He picks him all the time.
This leads us to either an interesting point about Djed Spence and r/coys...or a horrific rabbit hole, one or the other After the Brentford and Villa games, they were lauding Spence as the first born of the union of Kyle Walker and Stephen Carr and that Conte was a prick for not picking who was clearly the best RB we have on our books On the other hand, after the Palace and Pompey games there's been a 180, instead settling on Spence clearly doesn't try hard enough in training to meet Conte;s high standards, and because he isn't a trier that is why Conte doesn't pick him And why that 180? Simply put, because Gil and Sarr have got Conte's attention during the midseason break and are that faith is paying off both for them getting playing time and for Conte as both have shown to be useful parts of the setup (which couldn't be said six months ago, it has to be said) - but the real telltale sign is Doherty getting into the team lately, which indicates he got Conte's eye during the midseason friendlies and that's got him into the team, while Spence gets a cameo against Pompey and that's it And let's be honest, it's not like Emerson is the first guy who gets the manager's eye through sheer graft so plays regularly. After all, remember how Michael Brown was a regular starter in Martin Jol's first season in spite his playing style being best compared to a terrier humping somebody's leg the entire length of the living room?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64262577 I assume that the Poool cannot potentially face a "minnow" in R4, and even if they can, the BBC had a deadline for fixrure selection before the Poool replay.
An awful kick off time for our game at Preston. 6pm ?? Once again, tv showing eff all consideration to travelling fans. Man United v Reading is even worse, 8pm on the same Saturday and £46 per ticket for away fans.
Some possible context on why Qatari interests may be looking at Spurs ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64278629
A football club that does not own its own stadium is a big issue. A mega money owner who wants to build a new one from scratch, knows how much time/money that will entail. In this light, the owners of PSG may now be thinking tis too much aggro as a long-term project.
They probably just want a freebie, like City and the Spam. French corruption might not have hit the UK level yet.
The THST - I half forget they exist at times - posted this a week ago: They’ve since posted this to demand answers now, not in x amount of weeks time:
Damning article on ENIC https://worldofhotspur.com/the-great-con-of-tottenham-hotspur/ Not sure I agree with everything but I certainly agree on most of it.
The main issue with the article is the guy who wrote it They're a wannabe Harry ****espout on their Twitter feed and have been for years
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64314328 Deloitte's latest football rich list. We've moved up to 9th, overtaking Juventus. I've elaborated on it in the Transfer Thread.
1. For Spurs, that is solely the new WHL effect (THFC accounts will be out in a few weeks) . 2. Man Utd feeling it now on their finances. 3. Same as 2, but for Kings Rd FC in post Chelsky times.
The worst thing with the Deloitte Money League is every bloody year people deliberately twist it to try and say revenue = wealth Why yes, that's exactly what that World of Hotspur blog does . Several times, in fact...
