Acun please make sure the merchandise and playing kit is AMBER ! Orange is not acceptable - it’s so obvious on TV and at the ground . Working in print for years it shouldn’t be too hard , dyes have been managed well also for a very long time - for me it’s about control of the process at source . What I do know is that many colours look quite different in changing light . OLM will know more about the clothing trade and processes . I put the colour in caps as I know Acun reads all my posts and reacts . LOL

Even better was a photo of a stall on Wembley Way when FC played Wigan selling half and half scarves. The Hull FC half was in black and amber.

Of all the storms in teacups we have one here this one seems one the most pointless.
So for a hundred years or more corporate colours have been defended to the hilt by clients and marketing agencies who got really arsey about a print half a shade out then it says how important it is , so it should be for us - we have enough trouble with ignorant pundits and commentators saying we play in gold or yellow or orange !! We don’t and if you think the fans want badly coloured stuff then I think you are wrong . Or maybe like so much in this world ‘ nothing matters anymore ‘ whilst standards drop through the floor . Sorry but it matters to me .

I think he was referring to this Club Identity thread, rather than your post.

Ermmm I didn't say we shouldn't be playing or creating merchandise in Amber.

I just don't think the club is diluting our identity. Purposely or otherwise.

Without prolonging this I didn’t suggest they were doing this knowingly nor suggesting you were , but I want them to be aware the reproduction of our ‘corporate’ and long standing colours is very important and should not be negligently treat , therefore ‘otherwise’ is not acceptable , that’s all I meant . As I said if they have a decent marketeer in the building it should be his job to ensure colour reproduction is accurate - samples for example are critical . What if he’s an out of town graduate in his earlyish years at the club and hasn’t been instructed to ensure this, although his training should have . Who’s managing him ? , Sales Director or a marketing director would do this in other private industries and understand our branding and marketing mix.
I was involved in marketing and print for 20 years and I know how critical this element is and the controls needed.Sorry i’m really not trying to labour the point , honestly LOL

what is our colour?

amber is very ambiguous
to me amber looks like dark orange, blackpool is bright orange

is what it is

Well he would know, Canada’s full of dodgy rocks isn’t it ? It’s not yellow nor is it orange , let’s call it the colour we’ve had for years and years! LOL .
Are you happy to wear a yellow or orange City shirt or scarf - if you are then fine but us old uns aren’t - well me anyway !

I'm not sure what you're proposing in your post. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
As amber resin can exist in many colours, suppliers may have different perceptions/interpretations of "Can I order an amber shirt/scarf/pair of socks etc". Backing up someone else's comments about "show me some samples" first for my approval.
