I had a good look around the club shop recently and it is shameful as millions of pounds could be generated for the club. I am certain that the club has no real marketing team in place.

Went for #2, but agree that the options are too similar.
It would have been best to start with asking more open questions about what should be on the badge. The seven hoops should be kept and something from the original badge (the one from the sixties, not sure if there was one previously) would be good.
Take note that Loftus Road has gone!

One essential aspect IMO is to reclaim our hoops as one of our key identities that means establishing a design that looks like it's been around for years. No problem if it's not in their thinking but would of liked a reply at least

This is what they got as was asked to submit a quick rationale

Note it needs to be viewed in acrobat reader

That's actually bloody impressive mate. Got me sold and can't believe they've not given you a response! Clearly a lot of work gone in to it and makes a lot of sense. I'd love to see the presentation of the produced designs to compare.

Thank you but that is not a full rationale and took me a hour a few weeks ago on a Sunday morning

I don't think this mob would know what to do with a full rationale Paul.

The one thing I was certain of when Fernandes took over was that we would be **** hot at marketing. What a fool I am. It's worse than nothing and has been for years. The website is a ****ing disgrace.

The only thing I don't like about your rationale is that, try as I might, I can't pull it to pieces for avatar images, screen savers, email banners etc.

I doubt that only took an hour. Shame you don't have the skills to arrange a meeting with the marketing team in order to make a presentation rather than complaining that you are not being considered. If I had managed to put something like that together I would be asking Ian Taylor to meet me for a coffee. You need to go the extra mile not sit on this forum whining!!!

What a ****ish thing to say by someone who has no idea how this has played out. Lee Hoos, via Nines, asked for Paul's designs to be sent to him.

There is no marketing team at QPR, quite obviously. Taylor is just a basic comms monkey, and not a very good one of those.

    Lads it's no biggy
I have worked for Volvo for years as a client of the company I work for and they have walked in the last two weeks. In a way I like my escape to QPR away from my day job and it's fun to watch them at times been so unprofessional. I am however a QPR fan and like all of us would love to see our club rise above Chelsea etc

Very impressive DT - I wear my Not606 badge that you designed with pride all over Scotland, and a few people have asked about the badge - if only the clib had the nous to take up your design, it could see our marketing strategy greatly improve, along with the clubs image.

Not overly impressed with any of the designs put forward by the club.

No 2 is the best out of the four. I would have liked the word loftus road fitted in somewhere on the badge... but come to think of it we're moving,, Ain"t We Ummm

Very impressive Dave. I think the Club should stick with what is our identity. But if they insist on a change, I think your designs are a huge improvement on those 4 options

DT badge was shown to a fans forum meeting about a week ago along with a number of others including one other "lay" presentation ...There appears to have been a vote by a show of hands.... and the more popular ones were presented today on the club website, and voting forms at the match..

The other lay presentation one is 3 and 4 on the voting form and comes with an impressive animation which is on Facebook...I think the guys name is Daniel.

On the walk to the ground the ground swell of discussion was towards option 2
Which is my favourite of the given options

But I prefer DTs , I also think the club should have the good grace to thank DT for his effort, even if it isn't selected.

Loopy you know nothing about this...You were very unfair to DT....

I knew you were good but that is excellent. How it doesn't get picked is beyond me. It is so clearly by far the best design, most thought through and both timeless and modern. It's QPR, easy. Someone needs to get their P45.

I will need to have a chat with Beth tomorrow as what or what can't be said about this process.

As it stands, I met with Lee Hoos a couple of weeks ago and showed him Paul's/DT's design. He said wow!!! ( His initial like about it was that it was easily replicable onto the merchandise and especially the kit etc ) Can you get this forwarded to me? I did so, but it was by way of Ian Taylor. Between myself, Paul and sb_73 we submitted Paul's design to the club. I emailed Ian and asked him for Lee's email so that I could forward it to him. He said to email it to him and he would forward it on.

I have subsequently found out that Beth had emailed the club off her own back and showed them Paul's work before this all took place. Fair play Beth <applause>

Anyway, I did this and today's offerings is the result.

Now I don't know if the committee that put forward the four badge proposal was shown Paul's full blurb or if it was just shown the badge. I shall seek to find this out. I think the story behind Paul's work gives a greater understanding to the rationale behind it. It's a work of genius, and although I may be coming a crossed as somewhat biased I do think that Paul's effort should have been put out there as an option at the very least. If the faithful decided to go with one of the other designs then that's fair enough. All is fair in love and war ... But it deserved to at least get an airing and at least get some acknowledgement for the effort.

I'm very miffed but have suppressed any contact with the club thus far.

Brilliant. On top of everything else we have a bunch of fans with no taste.

This process looks like 'which picture do you like the best'. To get an understanding of each designs' potential you need the see the rationale behind it. I've only seen one, and I'm not allowed to vote for that.

Even if DTs design loses out they could have treated the fans like adults and posted the thinking as well as the pictures, but that may be too difficult to organise technically on the world's ****test website.
