I see Derek the dog-killer is still doing the rounds. Surely you've had enough traipsing around our board by now...?
We too have beaten Chelsea and Man Utd this season, the difference for us is that it bagged us 6 points. Come the end of the season I'm pretty certain you would gladly swap your weekend down in the smoke for 6 points in the league
Which is going to win you what exactly? One of the main points of you mags has been there's no point in reaching Wembley if you're not going to win. By that logic what is the point of you competing in the premiership? You're not going to win it so what's the point. Using mag logic, What's the point of NUFC at all, you give the cups no respect and you're in premier league no man's land, you're not going to win either so whats the point? Mag Logic, not ours, we actually enjoy football. Your last sentence shows you're just another boring mag. Or jealous. I think both as the Mag theory of league over cup contradicts itself.
money is the main reason why to stop in the league ..as we all know ..survival I suppose.. but the main question is ..again .. why look at it as a huge achievement when yous got beat ..lost .came runners up ... get the picture. what Bradford done was a huge achievement ,, so be careful when using the word class ..
I'm not sure what this mag logic is you keep referring to, first I've heard of it if I'm honest. A good cup run is a bonus for me, I can't speak for other toon fans but my priority is and always will be the league. The higher up you finish the more money you make, it's simple math....and logic, that's not mag logic I must add...just plain old fashioned ordinary logic just incase it's an alien concept to you. I don't think the fact that we haven't had a good cup run for a while indicates a lack of respect for the competition, is this some weird "mackem logic" ****? You could say that arsenal are not paying the premier league enough respect because they haven't won a trophy for ages, and because they are arsenal they are expected to do so. Every game is a part of a competition, whether it be FA Cup, Carling Cup, Champions League or Premiership. To answer your original question, the 6 points we gained doesn't win us anything, my point was that I'd rather have 6 points and be playing premiership football next season than having a tin pot sitting in a glass cabinet, in a stadium that's barely attracting 20,000 to a home game cos you're entertaining Doncaster that day. There are a section of NUFC fans who would rather it be the other way round for some reason unbeknownst to me - perhaps this is the mag logic you speak of ! As for us being in no mans land...do me a favour and give yourself a ****ing nip ! We're in 8th place and in with a shout of securing a Europa league spot next season, funnily enough partly thanks to your 2nd half capitulation at wembley. If anyone is in no mans land it's your lot. The only reason your not dead and buried yet is because you got rid of PDC and benefitted from new manager syndrome for a few games and went on a little bit of a run. Enjoy the rest of your season, I'm sure it will be much more exciting for you not knowing whether or not your gonna be playing top-flight footy next season than it will be for us not knowing if we're going to Milan or not (it's in Italy incase you didn't know). In quite similar contrast and by no means sheer coincidence I feel, your last sentence also tells me a lot about you. I am by no means boring, but then again I, like you are somewhat biased on that front. Jealous....errrrrrr, of what ? Do enlighten me.
The mags are just jealous, that's all. Keep going on about how (a) it's better to be safe in the Prem and (b) that there's no glory in getting to Wembley and losing. Well... (a) We don't actually have the luxury of a choice. I'd love to be mid-table, but giving everybody else a massive head start this season didn't help. (b) Bollocks. The ride was fantastic with some great wins and beating Man U over two legs was outstanding. As for the build up to the final....marvellous stuff. We're still in the FA Cup, have two derby wins and a Wembley final in the memory bank and if we can stay up as well Gus is a shoe-in for manager of the year. Nothing the mags or anyone else can say can change that. The fact that there's some that want to just makes them look twatty.
We haven't achieved anything. We can still be proud, don't knock us because you haven't held a sense of pride in years. Who said anything about class?
You told me to be careful when using the word class but I didn't. Address the OP with that. Not me. We all have individual minds with individual opinions you ****ing idiot.
I've been reading through this thread and it has been quite amusing well here my take on things. Based on facts not predicting the future would you swap seasons with newcastle and vice versa would newcastle fans swap with us as of today. Sunderland facts. Beat there rivals home and away, got to a cup final at wembley, are in the 1/4 finals of the FA cup, sit 3rd from bottom with games in hand. Newcastle facts. lost to there rivals home and away, did not get to a cup final at wembley, are not in the 1/4 finals of the FA cup, sit 8th in the league. Now based on these facts i would not swap seasons as of this minute. Your thoughts
