Not a Coogan fan myself nor do I like 90% of his comedy characters. But I'm Alan Partridge is my favorite sitcom all time though personally I think it's more down the genius that is Armando Iannucci who helped him develop the character and basically turning it into a top class sit com, even though it's Coogan's character, I don't really credit him for it. Can't stand Brydon either so I'm with you really. Just saw the story and it made me chuckle.

He's made a living from Comedy, fair play to him for that, I'm not daft enough to think comedians have to please everybody, so I can't really rip into him too much, he just bores me on every level.

I'd like to think the BBC would consider somebody a bit more qualified, to take over from the trio is all, personally I'd go with somebody like Mika Hakkinen, keep it factual and hope for the best.

I couldn't give a **** who they hire really. Don't like cars, just boring as Rob Brydon imo.

Mate, Sky will probably create a channel just for it. They'll throw twice as much money at it and 5 times the production.

The BBC have a name and a sad pack of ****s who only care about sucking the cocks of the ethnic minority, I'd put my house on it that one of their new 3 presenters will be a woman and another will be a black/asian male.

That's a good point. Do they still have the F1 channel?

Alan Partridge's previous cars include a Vauxhall Insignia and a Rover 800
A petition is calling on the BBC to hire Alan Partridge as the new presenter of Top Gear.

The fictional broadcaster, played by Steve Coogan, is said to be the ideal person to step in for Jeremy Clarkson, who has been suspended following a "fracas" with a producer.

The petition says Partridge has a diverse broadcasting career and a "noted passion for cars".

A petition to reinstate Clarkson has received close to a million signatures.

The campaign to have Partridge take on the role is some way behind, but has been backed by more than 15,000 people since the Change.org petition was started on Monday.

Steve Coogan is a self-confessed fan of Top Gear and has been on the show as a guest
Lorn Macdonald, who started the campaign, said: "Alan has a strong track record for broadcast presenting, from his relaxed professionalism with guests on BBC chat show Knowing Me Knowing You to his effortless banter on his talk shows at Radio Norwich."

The BBC has started an investigation into the alleged altercation between Clarkson and producer Oisin Tymon.

The row is said to have occurred because no hot food was laid on for the presenter following a day's filming in North Yorkshire.

Steve Coogan tackled the Top Gear circuit in 2008
Top Gear has an estimated worldwide audience of 350 million people but Sunday's show was not broadcast, with a documentary about the Red Arrows shown instead.

Coogan, who has played Partridge on TV, radio and film, has appeared on Top Gear in the past and described himself as a "huge fan".

However, in 2011 he spoke out about about the behaviour of the "rich, middle-aged" presenters "laughing at poor Mexicans", during a review of a Mexican sports car.

I dn't watch Top Gear but I signed that.

can't drive?

No mate, No desire to. Have a bit of anxiety when it comes to cars. Had a few bad experiences in close proximity when I was 15 and been very weary since. I'd sooner get the Train. Everywhere in Darlington is in walking distance for me. Small Cars terrify me. Feel much safer in 4x4s and big cars.

Delusion at it's very highest, I'm not going to argue with you, it's pointless.I think the situation happened, and the BBC suspended clarkson as a result. When the press blew it up, the BBC probably decided to drag this on, because top gear is now receiving publicity on an unprecedented level, which in turn will see ratings hit the roof upon its return.
They are dragging it on purely for publicity and future ratings, otherwise they would have made a desicion on clarkson's future by now. The whole thing has been a success for the BBC. Let's just see the viewing figures when it returns, and then we will see who's a fantasist.

Idiot ...........

I don't know if anyone's ever told you how much of a rude individual you are. If not, they should have.If/when Top Gear returns, with Clarkson at the helm, we'll no doubt see a big rise in viewing figures. If you don't think this kind of thing can happen to boost ratings, then I'm afraid your accusation of idiocy is incredibly hypocritical.

Are you familiar with the movie "the interview" which was released a few months ago? If not, I'll let you research it then come back and apologise. Fantastic and outrageous marketing strategy on a much bigger scale than this. <ok>

Seems I was right again and you were wrong ........... so no surprise there then <ok>

Was waiting for this <laugh> Fair play, I was completely wrong. We'll chalk that up as 1-1 after I completely humiliated you on the Newcastle board the other night. Night pal.

No you didn't, I made a point you had absolutely no answer to .... you were desperately clutching at straws.

http://www.not606.com/threads/poyet-sacked.294845/page-2 post 38 ..... just like this one <ok>

I pulled The Great Escape and you piled in acting the big man trying to back him up and failed.

You tried to make out that I was making a 'spelling mistake' by saying 'nowt' which is common on any NE forum.
It wasn't a mistake ........... it was deliberate as are the amount of dots I choose to use on here.

If you see that as 'completely humiliating me' it shows just what a sad clown you are doesn't it <doh>

BTW, when people say things like 'night pal', everyone knows it means you're trying to run away before you're pulled up for bullshitting.

Everyone can read for themselves and see the truth. You squirm and misquote me as much as you like (you'd make a great newspaper reporter btw, no standards for morals or truth) . But the FACT is that you claimed that you never make any grammatical errors, and I pointed out a whole host of grammatical errors you had made ON THAT THREAD. Your only defence was that making grammatical errors was "your own writing style" and you shouldn't be judged for it. The end. Now, see, I'm not saying "night pal" because I'm running away. It's because you are a boring old sad sack who can't just have a laugh and accept being done on a football forum, so any prolonged conversation with you becomes tiresome. So again, goodnight.
