I've never made any kind of complaint previously and deliberately did so on this occasion in the thread rather than by PM so that it was in the open. This guy has some kind of beef with me for some unknown reason and has used my son to have a go at me before. The picture is of an 11 year-old kid in a Car Giant shirt - it could hardly be me could it? For the record, on prompting from a mod, he has apologised to me by PM. I asked if he would do so on the thread but got no further response. Let's leave it at that. **** him.
I didn't notice that. I was more bemused by the sight of a QPR fan behind what appears to be the Premier league trophy! Kudos for threatening him on the main Board instead of behind the scenes. I like the transparency mate. I'm still disappointed that a Moderator has had to get involved yet again in workable issues such as these. Believe me Strolls, that kind of intervention does more harm than good in the long run.
It is the Premier League trophy, and the other one is the European Cup. It was taken at a Old Trafford when we played them in the League Cup a few years ago. I managed to blag myself a Corporate invite with American Express and persuaded them to let me bring my son along.
Jeremy Clarkson punched someone in the face just cause he never got a dinner, seriously he is worth millions and he saw red over a bit of food and punched someone in the face.
There is nothing particularly profound or brave to my knowledge, but at least it is an opinion, be that controversial or otherwise. There are any number of examples to Google, here are some;- On the Vauxhall Vectra VXR: - "there is a word to describe this car. It begins with 's' and ends with ‘t' and it isn't soot." On the Alfa Romeo Brera - “Think of it as Angelina Jolie. You’ve heard she’s mad and eats nothing but wallpaper paste. But you would, wouldn’t you?” On the Porsche Cayenne: - "Honestly, I have seen more attractive gangrenous wounds than this. It has the sex appeal of a camel with gingivitis. On the BMW 1 Series: - "I’m choosing the words for my conclusion with even more care than usual. So here goes. The 1-series is crap."
It's far more avoidable if people don't give the moderators any reason to have to intervene. If people spoke to one another on here like they would on the street, we'd have no issues and everyone would be happy.
Back on topic: Everyone is talking about what Clarkson said, and what Clarkson did (allegedly). But what about this producer guy? What did HE say to Clarkson? My guess is that he was yelling, swearing, and abusing Clarkson, and THAT'S what made Clarkson react - not the fact he couldn't get a steak.
Was a matter of time before it was time for the last conservative at the BBC supporter to be able to turn off the energy saving light on his way out. Whatever ur views of Clarkson I think we should be genuinely worried about the bias propaganda of our media and lack of balance. Media attracts creative who don't connect with logic or practical or pragmatic thinking. While comedy is generally only ever ok to be 'punching up'. Clarkson's over the top brash character over-rode this and 'punched down' but now he's gone how many right wing comedians are there? And by that I don't mean bernand manning types. ITV owner is a massive labour doner. BBC are well known for their left of centre views. Peston is bezzie mates with Ed Balls and Flanders literally ****ed ed miliband and ed balls. While Channel 4 obvious left wing approach. Recent eg there anti-ukip propaganda mockumentary Russell howards good news on week of thornberry's white van tweet ignored it and instead did a piece on a finge ukip donor. This country is on dangerous ground. I think it's a genuine problem and this country in the medium term is ****ed. There is no balance and no reflection of the nation's views. Clarkson's departure and no more Paxman will be picked up on by historians unpicking the demise of balance in propaganda britain
I don’t reckon he full on swung a right hook at him. Do you honestly think he chinned him? But I also think that he hasn’t changed as person and there has been a flurry of scandals around him in the last 12 months. With footage being dug out of cutting room floor and handed to the Mirror The guy involved hasn’t made a complaint. Which suggests to me he didn’t chin him. The sudden flurry suggests to me that certain individuals have been itchingand looking for a reason to be allowed to sack him. The BBC aren’t answerable to shareholders so they can ditch a very profitable show without answering to shareholders. Whether you agree with that or not our media and mainstream comedy is inherently left wing and unreflective of the (48% of the population (34% Conservative and 14%UKIP ) Emily Thornberry’s white van tweet really was a picture that said a 1000 words. Our media needs to be balance and I cant see an argument to say that it is. This is a very real problem Left wing media and those with uch hate towards CLarkson shouldnt forget importance to our society of allowing opposing views "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
You make it sound as if Clarkson has something important to say. We must defend his right to be a racist, sexist, homophobe.
