Sounds like the bookies are operating a wheel of fortune technique. Where the wheel stops, that's your next favourite.

Funny, predictive text, came up with wheel of TORTURE. Could be so right. It's torture for us at the moment.
Funnily enough, my predictive text came up with wheel of tortoise. Could be indicative of the pace of progress in sorting the current situation.

Sabri Lamouchi doesn't appear at all on the Oddschecker comparison site for any of the companies they list including BV, but I just went directly into an old BV account of mine I haven't used for years and he's just come in on there @ 5/1 second favourite. <yikes>

EDIT - he's also now on the Skybet official site at the same price. <doh>

who knew there'd be so many choices to go at??
Lamouchi will want lots of dosh like at Forest, so probs a non starter but who is the fan's choice??
You need someone long term who will be allowed to get on with the job, like Mark Robins, (keep ya mitts off), so the man/woman has to be right

Not got a clue Robbie. So many choices, so many previous failures. If I had a choice I wouldn't mind Dean Smith or Ryan Manning but I guess it will come down to what sort of package they can get and what flexibility, if any, they can have in signings - in the next 6 days FFS.

To sum up, we are bereft of paddles, rapidly heading up sh1t creek.

How ya doing Robbie?
You're absolutely right and we've been saying similar for ages. The trouble is that I think Tan doesn't want anyone long term as he fears anyone welding more clout at the club than him. He probably doesn't want anyone who's likely to get the fans onside either. Dai recently reminded us that the first thing Tan did was to get rid of our longest serving manager in ages. Then he found a dodgy reason to get Malky out and the rest is history. Even OGS commented on how little say he had at the club. Warnock lasted because he became a yes man and got us promoted but even his appointment came at a long term cost.

I don't know what happens next but I can't help feeling that anyone taking the job on now probably is just looking for a few months of pay. Anyone of any quality won't touch us.

Bloody hell. That was a bit of a rant. Never mind, we suckers will carry on supporting.

Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds

I read he had been visiting family in USA, returned earlier this week. A valid reason for the apparent lack of activity, maybe?

Read that as well Bluey. He was sacked by Norwich immediately after their Boxing day defeat at Luton.

Apparently he said he was going over to see his son in the US in the New Year to chill out for a month's break after the sacking. Wol says he arrived back over here earlier this week, and that would ahead of what he originally intended. I suppose we can make what we want of that.

Does not fill me with confidence.

I'm not sure any from the list give us confidence taking into account our experiences of the last 10 years.

But if it is Smith he starts with us with a clean sheet - no baggage of previous involvement with City.

He has had previous successes although his last couple of jobs went nipples skywards.

Get him in quickly, pull a few strings for 2 or 3 signings and get the club moving again.

Well Dai, he's 23 years younger than Warnock so that's a bonus.

He's also got a very good CV at Walsall and was the instigator of the excellent Brentford side we see today in the Prem. He got a rough deal at Villa who think they should be in the Champion's League, and his time since at Norwich was not good enough to match the fan's expectations - I think they sacked him when they were still in 5th place.

I'd take him in a heartbeat - modern thinking, relatively young, experienced and proven abilty - there aren't many of those that would come to Cardiff at the moment.

Well, I'm a little bit with Dai on this but that maybe as much to do with my own negativity about the club at the moment as anything else. My concern would be that his career is on a downward spiral at the moment but there's no disputing his past successes. He's probably the best we can get - if in fact we get him.
