Anyway, re. Elphick.Given where we are nowadays, yes, he could be a very good signing for us. Experienced leader with physical presence. However, hand on heart, can you really say you dont have concerns that he could be the next in our too long line of signings who spend more time injured than playing? 30 year old just recovered (?) from a serious knee injury. Hasnt played that much in past couple of years. Nige, rightly said he needs signings nailed on capable of 40 odd games per seasons; like his early requests, thats all out of the window now. I have my doubts, thats all.
Theres usually good reason why a player like him takes so long to be moved on. Different circumstances, but theres reasons why McDonald was let go (and Mazuch). Our track record isnt great. No wonder some of us are cynical. Add in that the club is now desperate and is run by a clown. Doesnt make me a fanny, just a realist. I post plenty of positive stuff too, for example about Nige.
