The point isn't whether we needed to keep specific players. The point is that you can't keep rebuilding a full squad year in year out and rely on loans years in year out.

Brentford/Millwall/Preston seem to be the popular thing at the minute, and people seem to think they survived on journeyman and free transfers. No they had an excellent scouting network (Brentford and Preston inparticular) and identified their targets and built a squad slowly but surely. Every year they purchase for 4/5 players to compliment what they have their already. They dont release 7, sell 5 and rely on 5 loanees every year. They have built a squad, with a lot of thought. A million miles away from us.

It's almost like they are planning for success. Unlike the short termism by Golden Failure Boy.

I'm not sure Brentford are a very good example of the point you're making, they released 8 players and sold 9 players ahead of last season (I assume the released ones were mainly youth players), they also signed twelve players (half of which were youth players) and loaned in one.

They're a good example of how to fund a club via player sales, whilst still maintaining a competitive squad, but they do turn over a lot of players.

Appreciated.... Of the players sold only 4 where first teamers and they where sold for good money as they had a while remaining on a contract, very much in contrast to us. Similar coming in quite a lot of there signings where for the future, 3 of them went straight out on loan.

Stop using facts to prove me wrong you aren't allowed to do that on this forum.

The great Spotted Lee Darnborough...

Just seen Michaela Strachan and that other tit on Countryside watch. They'll know where to find one.

“I feel very happy and proud to be able to call myself for an AIK player,” said Larsson.

“Everyone knows it’s been on the cards for a while, but I’m just very happy and thankful. It feels amazing.

“In the past year I have known that I wanted to come home and play football in Sweden sometime. Then things have to fit and it did with AIK. Quite early it felt like that this was what I wanted.”
