I suspect we prob aren't when just transfer fees are considered, as we've not sold anyone (that I can remember) have we?? We've prob a net spend of 2m or so....what we have done is savaged the wage bill - i'd imagine that other than the relegated clubs with % drop down clauses that we've seen the largest negative movement in the wage bill by far
So, did no other club feel that 1.5 million was worth paying for Norwood? Or was Leeds/mystery club thwarted by personal terms?
There were a few reports yesterday about him agreeing to join a Championship club, but nothing materialised. Presumably he'll go out on loan now, probably with a view to it becoming a permanent in January.
hopefully releasing in part the £1.5m to make Norwoods loan a permananent in January, assuming its not yet again all smokescreens and mirrors!!!!!
So we appear to have 'lost' 5,500 supporters based on the figures quoted by Phil,so at an average of £20 per game per person, that's £110,000 per home game in lost revenue, 23 home games, that's c£2.5m on tickets alone!!! More than enough to have covered the £1.5m fee for Norwood. Still we are the best run club in the EFL! Any fool can cut costs and overhead from a business, but it takes an astute business person to be able to do that whilst growing value and profitability, I can only assume we have a fool on-board!
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham #hcafc have been left with a weaker squad than the one that finished 18th in the Championship last season after the summer window closed. Rabbits need to be pulled from hats in the loan market. Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham #hcafc’s business (or lack of it) has made it tough for fans to have any sort of enthusiasm for the season ahead. A club relegated from the PL 15 months has shown no ambition to get back there.
Absolutely not, its the clubs inability to effectively manage its business and revenue streams! The number of stay away supporters is simply part of the fall out with the resultant financial implications! Equally if we were filling the stadium every week (which clearly we won't do anytime soon), greater revenue would aid the club in its ambitions (if it had any). The club have not addressed the fact that outside the Prem Lge, any EFL club is significantly more dependent upon gate revenue, something our owners have been unable, or unwilling to address
I may be wrong, but as and when any new owner takes over, I suspect the home gates will almost overnight increase!
Agree. From what I've seen of him, he'd be great for us. Just interesting in terms of how his market value has been interpreted.
I have suffered from sleep problems for many years, and i believe i started around the time my wife was pregnant with our first one. When she found out she was pregnant i was actually terrified that i wouldnt make a good dad to the baby as it was a very daunting change. It probably didnt help that we didnt have our mums to help us through. The thing i guess i have found out in all the time i have suffered (I still go through periods of it) with it is its my own thoughts that manifest it. I used to go to bed and worry that i wouldnt be able to get to sleep, which actually prevented me from getting to sleep. When i dont get enough sleep for a period of time i get bad anxiety and i end up in a vicious circle as its the anxiety that probably has a big hand in the sleep problems. You sound like you have similar vicious circles you are trying to battle. Maybe you could look at it another way, instead of trying to avoid sleep, try and replace the negative thoughts with how much you love sleep and how relaxed it gets you. You also sound like you are trying too hard to make sure everything is just right. What about instead of trying too hard, have a few days out together, just doing absolutely nothing or very little apart from enjoying being in each other’s company. If i have gone on too much or sound too condescending, just ignore what i have put.
Totally agree for those that have 2 kids or more. But for parents taking 1 kid to the game......its similar or cheaper for them both together ?? My son just got a first time membership for my 6 yr old grandson and only had to pay £21/mth for him or for those mathematically challenged thats £42 for them both.........or let me help you with this one, that works out at £20.91 a game for them both !!! 20 quid a game ?? that's almost like my grandson going free ?? Or to look at it a different way.......£31 for all 3 of us, that's 8 quid cheaper than a single Sheff Wed ticket tomorrow !!! Maybe we should stop spreading fake news.......or wish that we had done better in our Maths 'O' Level / GCSE......then we could afford Norwood ??
Never said it was good idea, I will be coming up to concession age soon, so the quicker it goes back to concession prices the better .........I was just quoting FACTS !! You were saying a parent can't afford to take their kid.......but if its 20 quid for a parent and a child then you are telling lies....FACT !!!
