We play 4-2-3-1. I'd have thought the number 10 was the one bringing people into play. I'm not saying a big striker is useless, but all the ones we've had have been fair to crap. Hernandez was 6ft 1 but he was no target man. N'Doye was a decent size and did ok but he didn't pull up any trees. Cousin was the last half decent big lad we had up front and he wasn't that great. On a par with JVoH.

No, you need someone advanced to bring the wingers into play. That’s the whole point of 4-2-3-1.

Nice to see Harry Wilson is NOT part of the Shaqiri deal with Stoke so hopefully we're still in with a shout

He could well be, klop has said all along he won't decide on what he does with Wilson until the end of the window. It could be part of the deal that if he goes on loan he goes to stoke

You don't "need" it, it's an option but it isn't the only one. There's a reason the number 10 role is often referred to as the "playmaker". They're the ones that spread the play. The striker is there to bang goals in, to get on the end of the crosses. He can't do that if he's setting up other people.

Harry Wilson not in the Liverpool squad as he gets ready for a loan, from Klopp before their game v Bury.

Fingers crossed he is one of the new faces Adkins will see a Cottingham on Monday

It appears Mr Y Sagbo is currently in Swanland as per his Instagram photo location. I think he knows Dicko from when he was on loan to Wolves a few years back. Coming back or just visiting friends?

Why play attacking wingers. How do you expect to bring them into play. Luck only works so far. Nige admitted last year he needed muscle up front.

He will be at stoke next week, the £2m loan fee liverpool where asking for him was incorporated into the shakiri deal

Because the wingers are the ones who pick the ball up from the midfielders and drive forward. In a 4-2-3-1 you're going to be putting crosses into the box, it works effectively as a front four.
