Norwich promoted.... lots pf parallels.... they finished 14th last year and sold £37 million of talent in the close season. So as the season ends, we'll likely finish a place or two better than them sell Bowen £20 million, Kamil £5 million and Markus £3 million, rely on some astute purchases and academy players and get promoted next season.... SNAP!! wake up .... they have some owners who put faith in their manager and allowed him to spend some money, there the parallels end!!!!
Plus they have a full stadium every home game. We’d be lucky with a full stand. I wonder what our players think of playing in front a stadium that is mostly empty?
We could have easily been a Norwich this season. If the sale of the club went through back in December... We were flying high, players settled, the positivity of the Allams going and Nige given financial backing would have worked wonders. Add to that the KCOM packed out every game..

The KCOM wouldn't have been packed out every week even with the Allams gone, unfortunately. We don't have the fanbase. Too many turn up to just watch the other team in the PL and are not interested lower down. For a while we had people interested in the lower leagues but the Allams have gradually killed off the feeling of connection with the club, the concessions issue being the final straw for many. Watched a bit of the Norwich game last night and the number of youngsters in the crowd was noticeable. Plus we have the situation if people want a bit of easy reflected glory which comes from being a big fish in a puddle they can go watch the rugby teams. And have a drink and get less hassle from police and stewards.
Norwich have had over 90% capacity for the past 15 seasons, which included a season in the third tier. In fact the average attendance their season in the third tier was only 200 less than our highest in the PL. They haven't dropped below 24,000 in that time. Maybe because their board connects with the fans. And they have that strange ticket pricing system which doesn't work where they for some strange reason let young people and pensioners in at reduced prices.

Hope the Allams don't read this. Can't see why they would need him but they will hang on just in case for the sell on clause.

I read many forums (Championship level) and they all slate us as a tin pot club in a rugby hot bed. We will never grow as a club even when the two clowns go, Hull folk are very fickle. I work in a small workshop with 12 rugby/football "fans" l'm the only one who supports City, the other 10 support HFC/HKR and Manure, LFC, TWS, Ipswich, Forest, Arsenal and just recently Man City.
It's the same in any town or city that hasn't had a team with a sustained period of success.
Look at how many more Hull City shirts you saw around Hull & East Yorkshire from 2008 until recently - give young people a local club to be proud of on and off the pitch for a sustained period at a decent level (even just lower Prem/top half Championship). Look at Newcastle - go up there and you don't see anyone following a team other than Newcastle (unless they're from Sunderland) - look at their attendances from the 1980s to now.
In the 2nd tier in the 80s they weren't getting many high attendances - add in a glamourous successful period in the newly formed Premier League and it's set their attendance levels to what they are now - be it upper Prem, lower Prem, or upper Championship - each generation in Newcastle since the 80s has had something to cheer for or can see something their team is aspiring to be.
I suspect if City had been in the Premier League since it started in 1992 for a 10-15 year period, we'd have a much more larger dedicated support than we do now.
Nothing to say it can't change though going forwards. Getting rid of the Allams would be a start...
Our success started 2003 rising up the leagues, by our second season in the Premier league the novelty was wearing thin. I remember the game against Bristol City in 2013 that could have got us promoted it was a flat atmosphere with less than 20,000. What we need is Super League to implode or both Hull clubs to go in terminal decline.
They have averaged over 24,000 for the past 15 seasons. Encouraged by very reasonable season ticket prices which people continued to renew as a new buyer wouldn't have got one for that price.
Noticeable how many young faces in the crowd at Norwich last night. And oldies of our age, showing more animation and enthusiasm than too many of ours do,
