You were watching Strictly come dancing!

Spent a couple of years working in a shop in Shields with him when he was about 17 and I was about 19 (roughly). He's a lovely lad and we were good friends back then before losing touch in the pre-FB days.

I won't lie, he was never particularly... funny. That's not nasty, but when I saw him on TV I remember doing a double take and thinking he'd done very well to get that far :D

Does come across as a nice blerk to be fair but as you say i wouldn't pay to watch him do stand up.
Shame Hebburn was pretty dire although showed promise.

If a North East show comes on I'm all over it. Likely lads, auf weidersein etc.

Allways hoped for a good Shields/Sunderland based comedy.
Roker73 and Netflix take note ;) :D

It's tragic to watch, Mrs Smug puts it on to ridicule the contestants which makes her part of the problem imo.

It's style over substance at an X-factor level. Costumes, sets and 'fireworks' played out to a studio audience of people who obviously rarely leave the house. The kind of people who would never go to a real gig in their lives.

I tried watching 'Vera', for the scenery, but I can't watch Paddington Bear with a weird accent.

It's cringing which is a shame, most of her shows are good.

:emoticon-0102-bigsmThat made me chuckle. My mother in law loves the show. She's about the same age, but Finnish, so the ****e attempts at the accent get lost in translation. It appears to work well as an export to the Nordics

AllSports, He wasn't funny at school either, Fair play to the lad though obviously worked hard for what he's got and still lives at the nook. so fame hasn't taken over him.

Aye was allsports, moved there from the Bridges branch because I was shagging one of the saturday staff and apparently that wasn't alright in a super serious industry where you basically sell dubbin for a living :D

Chris was sound though, good lad all round and comedy is subjective so very happy for him. He was always into performing arts, in fact that may have been his college course.

well 'strictly' speaking half these so called celebs i have nivver heard of, now les dawson, billy connelly, Bobby thompson i have heard off.

Ivor, have you turned the TV on, read a newspaper or taken your earplugs out over the last three decades?
