I know he had injuries, one from a very poor Donnie tackle (if it was that and not a blatant hack) but there was something missing from his game - lack of sparkle, not getting into the places where he had previously been successful or maybe the evolving style of play didn't suit him. We certainly didn't get the ball in the box as quickly as in previous seasons.
When our new boss arrives, I think he should give Chops another chance. You don't suddenly become a bad player unless there are other influences or you just don't want to be at the club. Up to the new guy to find out what makes Chops tick and then draw the positives from that.
