Jelavic has agreed a deal to play there apparently

Good. The best place for him and West Ham wont miss him either. Just glad we got rid of the poison when we did.

SSN reporting also that an un-named Chinese club are set to offer £38m for West Ham player Dimitri Payet. However the player himself says that he is happy to stay at Upton Park.

The Chinese transfer window is still open for a little bit longer.

Most are seeing this as a risk to English clubs, with more competition for our players, but I see this as good news for English clubs, think of the **** that will be offloaded to China for ridiculous fees? Shame it wasn't around a few years ago when we could have got millions for larkers like Bullard and Olofinjana.............

On deadline day it was overlooked here but some club also signed Guarin for way more than he's worth and agreed a fee for Luis Adriano but he pulled out at the last minute over something he didn't like. Expect them to cherry pick not the very best players but those on the fringes at a lot of European clubs.

Very clear now Jelavic only focus is money, not bothered whether he plays or not. Frankly having spent a lot of time in China in the last 20 years, I can't see players lasting long in the culture there. They are gambling mad in China, and you can bet your life it will be rife with match fixing before too long

Oh yes. I don't see it as a rival at all. But a good place to get rid of the past the sell by date players. In most cases that is. <laugh>

If the Chinese government wants it to work, it will work as they will pay for it.
I wonder what their agenda is...

It's as much political as sporting I suspect.

It's already more than rife with match fixing.

Don't want to say no to the folks at fault for it either.

You're correct when you state it's a political thing, the present Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang, is a football (Arsenal fan) nut - the next Premier may not be, it's early days yet for the Chinese.

Just like the good old US of A then, although both China and America will eventually become important football nations in their own rights.

The USA can never seem to find a world class poacher. That holds them back.

I don't think anything is holding the USNMT back. In the near future, I think they may win it all.
You would be shocked at how high the standards are in the high schools and colleges over here, especially in Ohio.
