so they said during the analysis...maybe im wrong but i thought Bale could have played it squarerer but im being niggly i suppose....if only we had Ade's slightly longer legs on Defoe...all in all its bloody disapointing...i thought Defoe did well for us yesterday though...is it me or is Bale a tad too greedy at times..he does take alot of no hoper shots too..but i suppose it is one of them that eventuall end up being a cracker...ohh im just disapointed!!
He'd gone down with cramp just before the "chance" so he couldn't even stretch properly. Trust me he was bursting a blood vessel to get to that ball! Defoe would of scored if he didn't change his direction slightly during his run up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- At least he was onside!
I dont think you can ask anymore of Bale. He burst past the defender and layed on a great ball , taking out Hart at the same time. Layed on a peach of a chance. Defoe should have scored. He was maybe our weakest link on the day. Look at their little Aguero , brilliant technic, could hold the ball for a little man, brought others into the game and quality when running with the ball. A massive class differance between both pocket strikers.
If Defoe wasn't fit for the last 5mins, why didn't Harry put Pav on, the sub itself would've wasted another minute and although I'm not saying Pav would've got on the end of that cross, quite the opposite, the passage of play would've been totally different and we would of got the draw we deserved.
i bet Pav would have got to it..yes hes a lazy Russian and all that but he has a knack of getting important goals...and he would have got to it i think..however i dont mean to take anything away from Defoe who i thought bust a gut trying to get to it...however cheating does prosper..since we still lost 3 points regardless of Biblos 4 game ban...referees should have to give post match analysis on their decisions...if they knew this was happening they might think twice before closing their eyes as they would be well aware that after the final whistle they have alot of explaining to do.
