I'm in. A great cause for a fantastic player who always gave 100%. It's hard to imagine his footballing value many years ago compared to what he could have been earning now.
Even in his time his footballing value probably stayed below its true worth due to the fact that he stayed at City and never went to Division One and maybe England. I think that's why his name - and that of Waggy, Ken Houghton, Ian Butler and co - resonates so much with so many of us. We truly got the best of them. And they tended to stick around in Hull after retirement too. Imagine if Jarrod Bowen had stayed with us for 10-plus years. That's what we got from these players.
Getting 20 grand is incredible. There are a lot of wonderful people about.
He didn't get banged up, he got fined about £90k.
Did you get to throw it?Donated early on. Hope it brings just a little bit of relief to Chris and the family. Seems much more loyalty in those days and certainly a lot less money. Started watching with Raich Carter, Eddie Burbanks, Viggo Jensen, Jock Davidson, Billy Bly etc., then later the Chris Chilton and Waggy years with of course the rest of the team. Those teams gave many hours of enjoyment and excitement to me. It was with great anticipation in those days to head off to Boothferry Park to watch the Tigers. As has been said, many stayed in Hull and had to have new careers after retiring from football to pay the mortgage. I last saw (with an orange in my pocket) several at Ian McKechnie's funeral in Brantingham. Paddy Greenwood, Ken Haughton, Ken Wagstaff and others were there.
I did some work at his house around that timeHe was jailed for two years back in 2010. He was subject to a confiscation order to pay back £91,519 or be jailed for a further 18 months. I dont know who he'd pay back the money to!

@Chazz Rheinhold careful what you're admitting to...I did some work at his house around that timeHave to say I didn’t like him. Came across as a cock.If I remember his daughter was a bit tidy
Unfortunately not.. Only family were at the grave site. We were stood on the path some 20 yards away.. I did speak to his son afterwards and he was disappointed I hadn't mentioned it at the time. I did however throw one along with everyone else at the KC Stadium a few days later.Did you get to throw it?
I loved him as a player. Once bumped into him in Teneriffe too and he sat with with us outside of a bar for 10 mins or so until he realised he didn't know me from Adam. Then he sat on the same row and nodded to me at Spurs away when we won 1-0, no-one else in our section recognised him.I did some work at his house around that time
