right not staying for the 'last' if it's even streamed that is! time for a mug of earl grey, slice of cake and then back for tomorrow's card. what a day for Big Bucks and it was great that most of us here were tempted by the 5/6 or had a better price antepost. i've never seen so many <cracker> signs

    Just an observation.
I've been watching racing at the Festival since about 1958.
The Ryanair Chase today was unsurpassed as the best race I've ever seen there. Absolutely magnificent and great rides from the jockeys involved.
People rave- quite rightly so- about Tony McCoy and Ruby Walsh, but Barry Geraghty is magnificent on steeplechasers, and I don't think either of the former two riders is better. He's very special on novice chasers, and the look Nicky Henderson gave him says it all.
What a fantastic race- and day's racing overall!
Finally, a special mention for Big Bucks....5/6 for probably the best stayer to grace Cheltenham. What more can you say- except what a great effort by the mare!
Roll on tomorrow! It has to be an anti-climax, but it may not be, if Kauto conjures up his magic!

I've forgotten what it looks like to get a return on a bet. It's seems like a long time ago that I was celebrating12/1 about Sprinter Sacre.

I think those bookie chappies have priced the Triumph up wrong. Ut De Sivola is currently 25/1 in places and Darroun 14/1 but i'd say Townend choosing Ut De Sivola gives us a good indication that they expect more from the former than the latter.

Having said that I backed Darroun a while ag oat 20/1 and the form of his last race was franked yesterday very nicely when Edeymi ran second to Une Artiste in the Fred Winter. Hisaabaat has also won a grade one. There's not much more you can ask for imho.
