You can guarantee whether it's like a road or like a quagmire, it'll be called 'good/soft'. I think that's probably THE Festival banker, if your degenerative enough to back the official going description <laugh>

Beefy mate I was looking at the Ryanair market today, I reckon there is still some value to be had due to the "false favourite" what do you think? If you assume Vautour and Smad Place go Gold Cup, we are effectively 8/1 the field if you pick and choose your prices. There are plenty quoted here who won't run and there are a few at bigger prices who could be interesting, including former winner Dynaste, who I secretly think David Pipe has been aiming at this in a very roundabout way, and Gary Moore's Traffic Fluide who might go really well upped in trip. Thoughts? Could Gilgamboa get involved?

Is Valseur Lido heading the Ryanair route? He's one I'd be keen on but I will wait until very near the race for any investment.

Ryanair an option for Vroum Vroum Mag
    BY STUART RILEY 6:48PM 1 FEB 2016
VROUM VROUM MAG could still tackle the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, as Willie Mullins confirmed the race was a "possibility" for the exciting mare.

With Vautour and Smad Place, the market leaders for the Ryanair, gunning for Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup glory, a hole has emerged at the head of the ante-post list and it is not out of the question Vroum Vroum Mag could fill it.

14/1 could be a big price but surely she is world hurdle bound or has Thistlecrack scared her off and with her in the Ryanair surely that means Vautour is gold cup bound

I love the way VVM pings her fences so I'd aim her at the Ryanair. On ratings alone she won't get near Thistlecrack.Looks like Fanny Power will go to the mares race as its getting very tight to get a prep run before the festivel starts.Vatour goes for the Gold Cup

If I could rewind the clock a few weeks I'd be taking the 16/1 there was about Road to Riches which I looked at a few times <doh> He's understandly halved in price now as people realise Gigginstown surely aren't going to run their best 3 chasers in the Gold Cup despite what O'Leary will tell us. I think Road to Riches will run here and go off a short priced favourite.

The one I did back in a few muggy accas after the King George was Vautour and I'd still say there's a fair chance this is where he will end up dependent on circumstances. I do believe them when they say the GC is what there currently aiming him at, but if it's a wet week (soft ground Gold Cups are common enough, last year, Bobs Worths etc) he won't be exposed to a gruelling slog over a Gold Cup trip. Also if he runs in the Denman Chase at Newbury and confirms that he is a non stayer he's in the Ryanair.

Ma Filleule is a current 25/1 top price and I'd prefer her to those you've mentioned. It's very much a tread carefully race, due to uncertainty.

What happens If Road to Riches wins this weekend again Don Poli though?

I'd prefer VVM went to the Ryanair too, I can't see anything getting to Thistlecrack to be fair.

Vroum Vroum Mag should be running in the handicap chase in the first day! Has no chance of getting in the same postcode as Thistlecrack in the World Hurdle, they want Annie Power to win a race so she's nailed on for the Mares and there's still a chance Vautour will go Ryanair.

They've protected her mark by running her over hurdles boys WATCH THIS SPACE!

Perhaps not. He's 2nd fave for it which probably tells it's own story.

Can we get a price Beefy? What's the race title?

I do have this horrible feeling that they have been messing around over hurdles which is a shame as she easily justifies a place in the World Hurdle.

    Good old ante post <laugh>
Anyone know how Annie is getting on in terms of a prep run before Cheltenham?

Agree there is some value in the Ryanair as the shorties won't line up. How about Sir Des Champs? Available at at 25 - 33/1 (or 16s NRNB). Giggi have at least 3 above him in the Gold Cup pecking order so I can't see him going there. Age maybe against him but he's been resting in his box for 2 years and has a cracking Cheltenham record. This 2nd tier race over a bit shorter might be just right for him.

I heard that's it's looking unlikely Toppy so I reckon she's heading straight to the Mares. With Vatour looking Gold Cup bound id love to see Willie send VVG make over fences for the Ryanair, she would be a good Ew shout.
