Theory up here that Carroll dived because he didn't want to score against Newcastle, also if you watch the video of it you can see Carroll flicking the ball in the direction of Gutierrez.
If I paid £35m for a business "asset", and it didn't 'perform' for nothing other than 'sentimental' reasons, I'd be ****ing livid.
He was booked for tripping Reina which provoked the headbutt. Without wishing to open up a can of worms, there are players at all clubs that do it. Barton did it when Gervinho slapped him. Johnson did it at Loftus Road.
All Johnson did was pull his head away when he saw Barton's intent! He did NOT go to ground as Colin so wrongly said!
Maybe it was a bad example as it wasn't really Johnson that got Barton sent off, though he hardly helped the situation pulling away as if headbutted and checking for blood, and rather incompetent officials who didn't see what happened and guessed based on who was involved. Anyway, water under the bridge now.
Agreed. But he rolls about a bit and does go down easily. Not as bad as others. But I'm sure he didn't dive when Ruddy collided with him earlier in the season. Don't bother with bringing it up again. It's already been dealt with and things got nasty.
I quite agree with what your saying he should have tried to score, but quite frankly I am ecstatic he didn't
