Can we only play bottom half side for the rest of the season? .... would the EFL allow that do you think?
As long as our crowds up up by 750 on last year, league position doesn't matter. Lets see where we are in 2067.
**** performance, and questions have been asked. Saturday won't be an easy game but if we are serious about promotion they need to come out swinging and put the gills to the sword. Jacobs from Wigan was a different class to be fair. Our defence hated playing against a side who were happy to play short and quick around the box. Fortunately the league isn't dominated by sides who play like that, but a forewarning if promotion occurs.
He had a storming game on Saturday, so it proves he's not up to two games a week if we want to get the best out of him.
Yeah my thoughts exactly, Wigan were different class to us last night, fully 2/1 faves for Champions last night. Glad I'm not the only who noticed that number 17 Jacobs, absolutely bossed the game for the full 90 How did Magennis not get hooked? Struggle to remember anything he did right, was dismal (lot of our players were tho tbf)
I didn't think we did a lot wrong as a team, Wigan just looked a cut above and we were left chasing shadows. It was humbling but I'm interested in seeing how they react on Saturday. Was it a one off, was it a sign of things to come - we just have to wait and see. The lack of depth was always a worry and we need Marshall back ASAP to compete with Fosu.
Part of the fun of this era supporting Charlton is enjoying watching new ways that the Belgian arseholes find to screw things up. Looks like we are experiencing a new one - the poor woman's Daniel Levy thought she was being clever on deadline day - a masterful game of double bluff in which we went into the final day with one and a half strikers on the books (Novak being the half), got rid of the half, and trusted that a combination of good luck and fate would keep our one remaining striker fit for the next 17 weeks
