Which soap do you think it resembles most Fran? A dramatic one, but with tragic events that happen rather too often and too similarlaly to be coincidence.

As a Thames Valley/Home Counties lad my speech is accent free although on holiday this year a chap thought I sounded like Sgt Wilson from Dad's Army.
 
I was at a party many years ago and a woman did just that and I was amazed.

What is interesting is that a county like Hampshire can have such a variety of accents.

People who speak differently to me have an accent and as I speak like me, by definition, my speech is accent free.
 
Apparently linguists can also guess if you've moved around from some changes in pronunciation. The English do seem to pick up accents easily (strange for people who struggle with languages). It can be embarassing when you start mimicking people unintentionally.
 
I'd say we're more like Corrie. There's even a story-line in Corrie that's similar-ish

Couple (Chainrai) wants to have a baby (wants his money back), the only option on the table is the woman's sister (the PST) but while there's openness for negotiation and they do want the baby (Chainrai wants to be rid of Portsmouth), the couple (Chainrai) have the ultimate say (the debenture) and various other people in the community (most other fans) are skeptical about whether the woman's sister (The PST) can physiologically (financially) give birth (continue to run) to the baby (the club) due to her relatively young age (lack of money).
 
The administrator says that he will soon make a decision between the trust and Chanrai. He has come out and reiterated that his duty is to the creditors. So many Pompey fans I know seem to think that his duty is to do the best by the club and didn't believe me when I said no it was to the creditors. If Pompey had had assets the administrator would probably have liquidated them by now..it was only the lack of money that made him consider that continuation of the business as a football club might give the best return.
