Latest Pompey score... New Players signed 13 Debts paid 0 Another resounding trouncing of their financial obligations. Well done Pompey.
Different record same lyrics, good result for Portsmouth Monthly tonight 2 2 at Colchester is very creditable.
Parachute payments are earmarked to pay off all debts. Haven't received em yet due to still being in admin. 13 players are on on month by month contracts. We have a wage bill approved by the admin of 2.65mil per year, which would have been more than covered by 11/12000 gates. We got 17000+ on saturday.
Must admit that the Pompey of now is nothing like that of recent times. ood draw again and team looks as though it has enough to keep you safe this season even when you do manage to free yourselves from administration.
To me the Pompey club of today is nothing like that of yesteryear and should be given the chance to prove itself.
Its a little similar. Loads of new players that it can't afford, still no previous debt serviced & the damn luck of the Irish when it comes to match days!
I'm not having a pop but isn't that EXACTLY what happened last time. You got players you couldn't afford?
Historyrepeating is right, history is repeating. Appleton quoted on sky earlier as confident he will bring in at least 3 new players soon...
Those player's salary are apparently being paid for by two fans who have donated £40,000. I'm not sure that's a good idea personally, but not much I can do about it.
Hi Lapras. I haven't been keeping up with all the goings on of late. Whats the latest/situation with the PST?
Yet again, I'm sure history will probably prove you wrong. It's willfully naive to think that Birch hasn't got caught up in the popularity contest that effects people when they enter Fratton, instead of sticking to business & his remit. The whole "10th of August" drop down dead-deadline was classic emotional blackmail. If he was running the club as a business he'd have carried on playing the youth team as clearly they earn less and results on the pitch don't really matter at this stage, from a football or business perspective if you are simply trying to keep the club afloat. Have the Fratton End sung "There's only one Trevor Birch" yet?
Agree - I don't necessarily want to see Pompey go under, but surely if they are as close to the edge as they claim to be, they couldn't even afford monthly contracts for that many new players? They should be doing everything they can to stay alive
