Well the Jenkins transfer comedy show goes on, now we have two players out for the season days after the transfer window closes, completely cancelling out the two sprat transfers in. Bony has been an expensive transfer disaster, any chance A Ayew might go the same way? Carlos is going to have to perform a major miracle to keep us up, he deserves all the luck he can get with our toxic boardroom.
A Ayew will do a good job i reckon, But Bony dont have any heart and is happy we were mugs for taking him on....We wont miss him one bit...
Disagree with that as he has tried in the games I have seen but he is not the player he was and his fitness and injuries are a problem.
Looking at our run in and the way we have performed the last couple of games when you look at both sets of stats then i have gone from confident that we will stay up to maybe and should we lose the next two games against Man Utd and WBA then we will be in serious trouble and think we have had it as we have Everton. Man City, Chelsea and Bournemouth...
Not taking other factors such as suspensions and injuries in to account:- Man U (L), WBA (W), Everton (W), Man City (L), Chelsea(D), Bournemouth (W) which gives 41 points which was my forecast at the start of the season. Always look on the bright side of life
It is not looking so rosy as it was a couple of weeks back imo. Even WBA are improving and will get a win soon and we are the obvious target and if that happens we are going to find it tough in the remaining games......I hope we scrape home but i fear we will have to rely on other teams to do it.....Carlos needs to get back to winning ways and better performances at this crucial time of the season....
Hope so but we are going to have to play much better than we have done in recent games where we could not put a string of passes together.....Besides we need to get out of our own half to give us any sort of a chance.....
With a bit of luck, we beat Southampton under the lights and it will be probably after the FA Cup semifinal to retain our PL status and send the Southern Cockney Chavs down that same evening. Double bubble!!
We still have 8 games to go, but it is looking very positive for keeping our PL status, that said we really need to stop skirting with relegation, the club has had one too many warnings that this squad needs serious strengthening, particularly in the front line, I know they have been trying to sort it out for a few seasons now, but they really need to get it right, making costly mistakes like Bony and Baston cannot continue, time for Huw Jenkins to step down, and we get some serious recruitment personal in who know the transfer market, we cannot continue like amateurs at this level.........
Our investors? say that transfers in will have to be funded by transfers out This isn't very ambitious and I don't see this as strengthening our team. I would like to see some of our youngsters given a chance even at this time. Whilst I think Clucas, Ki and King are our best midfield at the moment I would like to see George Byers instead of Carroll for example
Getting the right players is imperative for next season whatever division we are in and the only way we can do that is to get in the transfer market early......Also Carlos has to play the biggest part in who we bring in and who we let go....The early bird catches the worm and the stragglers get the scraps...
also doesn't the window close early this year, need everything in place early, especially with it being a world cup year.
That's my view too, it's in our own hands now to throw away, I see 3 wins and a few draws which should see us safe for another season!......
King getting a lot of attention and support - not as good as a fit For IMO. Clucas still hasn't proven himself at this level. Carroll has proven, at this level, he's not good enough. Fer, probably not good enough. Ki - gone. Leon, Routs - too old Narsingh - shown himself as decent back up Ranches - gone Mesa - not good enough Dyer - one dimensional and needs others to play his way (triangles) Grimes - another loan or sold Montero - as good as gone. So, imo, we go into the new season (hopefully in the PL) with a decent 'keeper and backup, no good enough first choice RB, decent CBs, no midfield worth the name, no speed, no centre forward up to snuff and only the Ayews able to offer what is needed. And at the mo I'm being half full
It's why I have said the 'squad needs serious strengthening', massive work needs to be done this season.....................
