This is surely the most exciting season in recent memory, both at the top and bottom. I work with an Evertonian and he's convinced they're top 4 material, and why not?

My question is though, where would you be happy with our season ending? I don't for a minute think we can win the league simply because we don't have the quality or depth of the other teams above us. But everyone in the top 8 right now must be thinking they have the best opportunity in years to realise a dream. We're only 6 points off the top for God's sake!

I see it going to City still but it will.be tight. What's the highest we can finish?

To be honest, if we finish the season in the top 8 I'd be absolutely delighted! Anything above that would be a bonus. Anything below 10th would now be a real disappointment - despite me thinking mid-table would be fine before the season started. <ok>

The race for the title is a great one this year. I think it's wide open with at least four or five teams genuinely in with a chance. Who knows? Liverpool might rely too much on Suarez? Arsenal might not have the 'bite' to get through the winter fixture pile-up? I think it will be between Man City and Chelsea (even without an in-form striker).

Man u will spend big in Jan I reckon and you cannot right them off, I believe they will get Ronaldo back, they will want to make a statement and DARE not finish outside the top 3. Everton will be up and down, and to say Barkley is worth more than Bale is laughable, he has put in a few decent performances. look at Ricky lambert the press were hailing him after one decent game but what has happened to him since ?, like Townsend the Spurs player.

Wenger is lining up a bid for Suarez.

It looks like the league is separating into a top 8 and bottom 12 and without injuries or other problems I'd expect Newcastle to be 7-8 but with a large points gap over the bottom half <ok>
