I think they are different points. If SL wants to not have to dig so deep, as I previously stated that’s his prerogative. He should just come out and say it.

What upsets me though is that’s not what they were saying to the fan base, not until the RB CEO interview. Our CEO then tried to say that had been the plan all along, if it was why had they not made that clear to the fans earlier, if they had there wouldn’t be the uproar there is at present.

They sure as hell didn’t announce it before they sold this season’s season tickets .

On balance ? Half full ?

    Reduced the bloated squad.
Cut the wage bill by £10million.
    Operating on exhaust fumes.

Bloody hell, there's some hard taskmasters on here.

For me he's in massive credit.

    Bit over the top RP!!
Reduced the squad and cutting wage bill is pretty much the same thing, certainly goes hand in hand.
Not sure about exhaust fumes, he has brought in players since he’s been here, not all good..some still on trial imo.. But Danny Simpson was a good one to get off the wage bill!! :emoticon-0103-cool:
The bigger picture for me is the performances on the pitch, with what he’s got and how he gets them playing as a team.
Sounds like a few on here are lining up the excuses if it all goes tits!! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Not really, just making sure blame is apportioned in the correct place. Some like to take credit, but hide when things go wrong

I thought this article might tickle some of you

If I thought things couldn't possibly get much stranger after leaving the madness of Leeds United, I was wrong. One of the final acts of my 20-year professional football career was to grab hold of my manager in the dressing-room at halftime and attempt to fight him. To be fair, my agent at the time warned me that I wouldn't get on with Lee Johnson and tried to warn me against joining Oldham on loan from Bolton Wanderers. But I hadn't played a minute since joining Bolton and the chance was there to go and play some games.

"I'll give it a week before Johnson tells you he was on 10 grand a week at Bristol City," my agent said.

It actually took him two hours.

"Yeah, but wasn't your dad the manager?" I asked Johnson in reply. He didn't like that at all. From the first time we met, I just took a bit of a dislike to him because he really loved himself.

tweedle dum tweedle dee here you go again!

I dont have a list for managers to be at BCFC or anywhere else to that degree, and certainly dont have a wish list therefore as to who I might like as a manager at BCFC ...

.... sorry, forgot you know everything about football but nothing about business,
so maybe you should take over the job of CEO/ OWNER & AND SOLE DIRECTOR then we get made bankrupt demoted to 10th tier and sell AG to the Gas ............ and start all over again!

Amazing what makes business tick and how many CEO's have often a dozen or so different trades to their bow / CV ... one day they are head of a major engineering company the next head hunted for head of a bank .. then maybe a year or so later CEO of a clothing company etc etc ... Running a business is not easy, but those at the top do it whatever the product .. SL IS NO DIFFERENT it equates to balancing the books ... your way is spend it spend it spend it .......

Whatever !! As ever attack and belittle when you’ve no answer to points raised, but hey ho

    Edit
I’ve no desire to get into a long debate with you, we’ve differing views, that’s fine. Not a bad idea to leave it at that

If the club should get rid of Nige, given the limitations he is clearly working under, then what next ?

We must have a pretty awful reputation in UK football overall as this being a really unhelpful place to work a lot of the time.

Would the Lansdowns pick yet another cheap 'up and coming Manager' who has potential but no experience ?

That's what they have gone for in the past-I was amazed when Nigel Pearson was named manager-SL approached him Nige did not approach SL.
As said after all the hard work and changes we are finally seeing shoots -i just hope the Lansdowne don't through it all away.

Unless SL & co haven't had some sort of fallout with Nige or we have a string of poor results and performances I can't see him going anywhere and I believe he will be offered a new contract.......I think Nige likes the club and the area....I don't really see an issue..
If on the other hand there is an issue with Nige and the suits upstairs, I fear he will go down the cheap option and we end up playing our football back in league 1...... until SL finds a buyer

Agreed and providing steady, if not spectacular, progress is made then I seriously think it's as good as it gets with all the lack of communication nonsense that seems to go on between the suits and the Manager.

It's clear Nige likes the area and appears to be well and truly settled in this neck of the woods.

So if he gets relieved of his duties at some point, and unless he's got designs on carrying on in management elsewhere, I can't see him leaving of his own free will just yet.

2 of the 3 did themselves to be honest. He didn't sell anyone that was on high wages he let all their contracts expire. Not sure that's worth the credit many are giving him, especially as he alienated many of them, and we didn't even see them play at the back end of their contracts. We literally paid them for nothing....
The last one I will give him , although it's hardly exhaust fumes, and still a lot more than quite a few clubs in this division.
For me, where he's been let down and is right to be aggrieved is, not being able to reinvest the Alex Scott money.
