Let's hope so, Soops. These protracted transfer sagas can get quite tiresome, can't they?

As I said on an earlier thread, I can deal with Remy not staying, or (say) Caulker not coming, but rather like Cleese's headmaster in 'Clockwise' it's the hope that's killing.

It's my understanding Steven Caulker will have a medical at @QPRFC today ahead of his proposed move from Cardiff

Lets hope so & we can end this farce of a transfer.

As far as transfers go, don't you think this is quite normal? We've been used to last minute ones or desperate oldie signings that go through straight away. But for desirable, young players, I think this is quite normal.

Steven Caulker will undergo a medical at Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, talkSPORT understands.

The Cardiff defender had been stalling on a switch to Loftus Road after QPR agreed a fee with the Championship side last week amid interest from a host of other Premier League teams.

Crystal Palace, Southampton had Liverpool have all been linked with the 22-year-old.

However, he has now made up his mind to join Harry Redknapp's newly-promoted side.

The former Tottenham centre-back, who worked under Redknapp at White Hart Lane, will put the finishing touches to the move today.

He will become QPR's second summer signing, following the free transfer arrival of Rio Ferdinand

did no one else want him then

If he joins are we allowed to like him, or will he always be tainted by not joining us immediately we asked without thinking and seeing what else may be available?

I don't know about normal, after agreeing a price with Cardiff 3weeks ago not sure many teams would have let this drag on this time, sure caulker has got decide over his future & eventually well hopefully decides its us, so much for mirror journalist then.

GREAT NEWS! I really hope he signs.

With Caulker I think that we will have a strong and reliable defense. With that box ticked off, we now need to add quality, creativity, depth and options outfield and in attack, as at the day we need to also score some goals to win matches.

Tainted SB, but he could still win us over with a risky cheese platter.

No sure about the timescale involved Jeff but it seems to me that Hoilett's transfer took an age too, and I find myself asking was it worth it, although that assist was priceless

I cannot answer that until I see what the herd decides...and then I will make my own mind up to go along with the herd.

You do let it drag on a bit if you really want the player.

If, however, you rush it or give the player a deadline/ultimatum and then end up losing him, you find yourself having to make hasty, poor, costly signings at the last minute just to get someone through the door. Been there - done that.
