Crouch could happen. But at least crouch could get us few headers, there weren't many last year. I have on good authority that quality, warm, goats cheese has been served in his end.

Sadly, I don't think any stars from the Championship have "proved they can do it" so I suspect it does mean an experienced pro again. I can actually understand that if we're replacing someone like Remy and he's right about a settling in period but I'd hope that the filling out of the squad would be done by people that can come in and surprise and grow as players (ie youngsters). The problem I have is that the likes of Crouch are waning stars who've proven themselves historically. There is a need to be a bit braver than that and trust your instincts on players. He's come a long way from his West Ham days of buying anyone with the idea that, if you buy enough bargains, someone will eventually work to where he is now. It is a bit too short-termist for me though.
