Catts

In simple terms, Catts won’t be going anywhere as nobody is going to want to take him.

That’s the reality of it, we couldn’t shift him on a free as nobody will be 30k a week for a player who’s legs went 18 months ago.
Only 18 months? <laugh>

He's not a bad influence around the place which would be a problem (unlike others) - his only negative for this season is wages. Ross and Donald both stated that he's been excellent in training etc. so there's not an issue with him having an influence on the youngsters - it's also not his fault that he's not good enough mind! Just something that happens to players as they age - particularly after the long term injuries he's suffered! Part of life - I could run 100m in 13 seconds when I was 20 - don;t think I'd break 20 seconds now!!!

I think he should move on, he wants to move on, the club wants to move him on.

In the meantime, Ross has stated he is being a model professional, is training well and has decided that while he is here he will use him in the squad.

Is he good enough? Maybe not, but ultimately Ross decides that . Is he worth the wages he is on? No. Is he to blame for his wages and contract? No. Who is to blame? The same stupid wench who gave him the ****ing contract and is know his bloody agent.
Am I worth 50k a week in my job? Nope, but if someone offered me a 5 year contract at that rate, I'd ****ing take it, even if I knew I wasn't worth it and regardless of what "loyalty" I think I owed the stupid bastards who offered it to me.

Getting on Catts back helps absolutely nobody.

Comparing him to Rodwell is ****ing ridiculous.

If people want get on somebody back who deserves it, how about the 2 dick heads who have decided not to show up to training, compleatly unprofessional and have reportedly turned down offers because their wage demands are too high

That's the reality of the situation unfortunately.
We need to do a deal here and save 50% of his wages. I know Charlie and Stuart said that they wouldn't be doing that, but I think this is the exception to the rule.

If we can loan him out, and the loanee takes £15k a week of his wages then this saves the club £780k a year.

It also removes him from the dressing room

The 2 dick heads your referring to have had their wages stopped so i have no interest in them. Id rather keep hold of them and get a proper fee for them than get ripped off.
Catts on the other hand is on probably 3 times as much as any other player in this league so hes a burden to us. If he was going to be a positive to the team like Oviedo i wouldnt mind so much but hes a liability and a reminder to every one of us when hes on the pitch why were in this mess in the first place.

I don’t have any issues with him as such mate, I was annoyed by the ‘won’t leave a penny behind’ thing that should have remained private, but without question Catts has been a good servant to club.

He simply isn’t good enough anymore, the lower down the leagues we are the more physical it is and that pushin him even further back. As said above if we could send onnloan and half our outlay on him would still be great business, nobody will take him permanent.

Only a complete anti Cattermole persuasion could blame the Luton goal on him! 2 lucky deflections landed at the forwards foot! What’s wrong with a professional attitude? According to Ross he’s a model pro. Or would you rather he raped the club like Rodwell did? No pleasing some people. He’s not a first choice. He’s a squad filler and will probably be good enough at this level. And that goal on Saturday should’ve been cleared before it got tnear Cattermole. But overlook that and blame him anyway!

And I always thought defenders should be goalside of the opposition at corners, but hey wrong again, thanks Markus for putting me right. You are right too to suggest I am anti Cattermole, and have been ever since he joined the club and displayed his incompetence as a footballer.

Again, wages he is on is not his fault.

He wants to leave, but he is been professional while he is here. You can't fault him for that. Unless you want him to be another Rodwell ? Do the bare minimum, and not make himself available for the squad?

Or do you want him to not turn up at all, so we can stop paying him? That's a daft expectation if you do.

The defender was goal side - he wasn't Cattermole's man and his marker left him and Cattermole tried to get back - Cattermole was marking the runner from the edge of the box and was between him and the goal. The lad who scored would've had a free rujn if Cattermole hadn't noticed the danger and tried to get there! Loovens lost his Man and the guy to blame is the little lad trying to make up the ground?

I was at the Bolton game when Catts made his debut for us and it's one of the most impressive debuts I've ever witnessed. It wasn't just his tenacity at winning the ball back, he was pinging the ball 40 yards and landing it on the players toes. There's a good player in him, but as has been stated in this thread his legs have gone now. The lads in this league will be fit and will probably run rings around him. There's not too many chances in football for a player like him now, being a hard man in midfield. Those days are gone you need to be athletic with it too, like Kante.

I don't think he'll ever make an impression again on a team, no matter where he goes. I'd prefer not to see him playing for us again, though. I won't knock his attitude, he seems to be getting his head down and not going on like Rodwell, N'Dong and Papy. He's just lost his way. He's been a good servant to us overall.

The injury problems he's had through his career have been mostly his back and his hip. No wonder his legs have gone, if anything is going to kill mobility it's constant injuries to those areas. As you say, he's done at any level now probably.

Hope us or Boro can offer him a way into coaching as he's be a good servant. He hasn't actually done anything wrong, rumoured to be part of the rotten core but for all we know he was just fed up as us with players taking the piss. It's something we'll never know. He's alright by me like.

That is a great post! <ok>

Proffesionals debatable after his spat with our fans in pre season and his nights out on the pish. I know lads who drink in his local and hes a regular in there.

He said the sooner hes gone the better and I echo those words. I know his wages are no fault of his own and i cant fault him for not refusing to play like Jack but if he does want to go like he said he needs to do himself and us a favour and make himself more available to clubs i.e lower his wage demands. You cant tell be no club below the Prem would have him.
