It's like every transfer deadline day. Rumours that somehow, in spite of 8 years of contrary evidence, the club will spark itself into life. Carver will be back in Monday.

I'm starting to think we're about to be relegated if I'm being honest.

This sounds like ****in bollocks sadly.

The players could have least thrown him off the coach while it was moving. It would have been the best teamwork they did in months. His bloated body found on some hard shoulder with fat bollocks Lee Ryder crying beside it.

This will be a horror show here for McClaren. I don't think he's a bad coach, nothing special but decent enough. Certainly as good as we could hope for here under Ashley. Lets face it though, he has struggled to see the championship through when the tough got going, imagine when he is under the pump when his best players are sold next January if he's in the PL.

Might be a decent bet if we do go down as expected. He certainly couldn't do worse than Carver. Defo worth rolling the dice for a bit of new manager syndrome, there is nothing to lose. If you are MIke, you know you only need 3 points. Maybe even a point. You are not likely to get that under Carver, a new man might do enough to inspire.

I'm not convinced mind. The players are just as much of a problem as the manager. We have some split pea hearts in there and there is a massive lack of quality. Perhaps Cisse can fire a few end of season goals to nick a point or two.

I think part of McLaren's problem at Derby was us. Not saying its a good excuse, but i think his head was turned after January, he lost some of his focus and his players saw it. If it was as widely known around Pride Park that he was leaving as people say then it may have badly affected the team. That is in itself worrying though as you know there will be plenty of similar distractions here.

Pardew lost a whole second half of a season when Cabaye was sold and not replaced and the players saw his reaction and lost heart too. That was part of Pardew's problem. I think he was too close to the players. He hadn't lost them (as some reported). Janmaat said he was the best manager he had ever had (and said he was better than LVG). Cabaye did that piece where he told us to stop focusing on pardew cos Pardew wasn't the problem. However, as much as I still support pardew's record here, i think he wasn't good enough at standing back and I think that has passed onto John Carver. They are so pleased to see Ryan Taylor recover they can't see that he (understandably) isn't the same player. They have battled so hard to see improvements from some players that they can't see past the small bits of improvement (when they occasionally happen on an individual level) that they can't see that some people aren't good enough.

As for the last three games, at least if someone from outside comes in they might pick the right team without emotion. The squad is not good enough but we have layers good enough to win 3 points from 9. We just need to play he right ones, get them organised and get them motivated and believing they are premier league footballers - even the ones who shouldn't be!

this in a nutshell. if carver stays we're relegated.

The rot has well and truly set in at Newcastle. We've seen it a hundred times before when a new manager comes in the mood changes and spirits and hopes are lifted.

Daft fat mike has one chance to keep us up. Get rid of carver and get an established face in.

Do it today Ashley.
