The club wouldn't have disappeared. It might have dropped down the Leagues like Portsmouth, but big clubs eventually find new oners and get back on their feet.
So yes I would rather have risked going into administration than to support the Hull Budgies who play in yellow green and blue.

Hypothetical question (kind of) Craig.

It was well documented that, if the Allams hadn't bought us, we would have ceased to exist. We could not have gone into administration as we had no assets.

If the Allams had come along and said that they would buy us, but in order to be able to market the club in their native Egypt, they would change our club colours to green as it was considered a lucky colour in Egypt.

Would you have been against the Allams buying the club and would prefer it ceased to exist until it rose from the non-league ashes?

Golaccio has pointed out above that we have changed colours in the past, and the club badge has also changed a lot over the years.

Pretty much covered in my post above - I wouldnt watch us because it wouldnt be us. I might as well be watching any team.

And as far as I remember we've been black and amber right from our 2nd ever season save for a couple of weird short-lived arberations over 60 years ago. And our badge has always had a tiger theme - hasnt it? It's not the same to change your badge's style rather than the whole content cos you dont like the colour.

Without being bothered to scroll through the 3 pages, there was a thread on the rebrand on CCMB board - lots of fans wanting to re start a team in the lower leagues. This is only one step below what happened with MK Dons.

Harold Needler attempted to change the colous to blue, but the experiment wasn't supported by Hull fans and we returned to our traditional colours. The Hull City badge has gone through many strange incarnations, but it has remained a tiger and we have kept the name 'The Tigers'. Those things should suggest the high value past supporters have placed on the protection of our basic traditions and the shame we should feel if we discarded them.
The hypothetical question you ask is a difficult one to answer and I suppose I would have to say that if the only alternative was total extinction I like everyone else would have to take what was on offer. However I would prefer to drop down to the basement division if it meant keeping the club's identity.

For me if you want this it's the same as being a Man Utd fan from Surrey. Dont give two ****s about heritage, it's all about success. If it ever happened to us Id want to see an FC United style rebirth.

I'm sure seeing on Historic Kits that we've used the 3 crowns of Hull as our badge before.

I dunno when we revirted or changed it to the Tiger's Head though.

I think everyone's missing the point here, why should the club have to change their colour, badge, name and tradition in order for their wealthy majority shareholder to have an interest? They shouldn't be faced with the red or dead, the owner should support the football club he bought rather than buy a league place to create his own club for fans thousands of miles across the globe and will never go to the stadium and put the money and support into the club that makes it what it is.

This should be Cardiff city football club, not Malaysias English football league club that Cardiff have the privelege to host. Cardiff fans are being ripped off.

Before I start is this level of racism normally accepted on your board?

I think Happy Clapper sums up most of the posters on our board fairly well, with his explanation.
There's a difference between total acceptance and realising that the way football currently operates (and our previous financial history) it was red or dead last summer.

There was a split in which the vast majority of fans accepted that playing in red was worth £100m, that 'deal' stated the name would not be changed. None of us will accept a name change lying down, I'm sure the vast majority will still support the club IF and it's a big if, the name changes.
As is said above if a number of fans do leave the club (about 600 ST holders asked for refunds due to the shirt change), our likely PL status will fill those seats easily. Doesn't mean I like that fact, but football is a business and lets not pretend any owners care as long as the seats are full.
We already sold out of the allocation of new ST's for next season.

In fairness to your board I'm suprised by how well this is being discussed, when I clicked on the thread I was expected a thread full of "haha lets all laugh at *Cardiff* insert new name here" type comments

I do not know if anyone else has, but I have certainly reported the posts for racism. It's a disgrace to our board.

I agree with what you have to say about your position - reality has to take hold to realise not just survival, but progression.

It's been deleted already.

Slightly off topic, but with regard to Red or Dead, I'd like to point out that Wayne Hemmingway is a bit irritating and is overrated.

Carry on...

I'm not being funny here I don't agree with racism I live in a multicultural city with diverse range of ethnicities which many of my friends belong to. These allegations of racism are slander and I'll wish to see them removed and appologies.

That explanation has got a bit of the Ron Atkinson about it. Just because you live somewhere and have friends doesn't mean you can use terms like you did without them being racist.
It would be a shame if this derails what's been a pretty decent thread up to here.
