Caravan?

Cut the club some slack. Everyone was keen on it a few days ago when it was announced. It's a perfect song for us, let's make it work.

That's partly the point, things should be encouraged and nurtured, rather than made to work.

No chant or song has universal support, so to push it as "our" song is a tad much in my view, and I think most agree that the way it was done needs improving.

Happy to keep giving it a go though.

Out of interest, did many in the west stand join in?

We should play it for two more home games, but it did think it was really cack. The atmosphere was really awkward where I was sat, and only a few people joined in.

I do like it and hopefully we can stick with it! You can't get more cringeworthy then " I love you " it's palaces song simple as! It's embarrassing so please stop. If we are gonna pinch someone's songs we should be looking at adapting lokerens? That's the way to f'king get the place going.

Yes some of us did.

Has anyone thought of trying to get the west and south stands involved in the we're the north stand/east chant? Think that could be really good.

That to me is one of the failing's of the stand move in just moving the noisy fans. We need to encourage the quiet areas to make some noise or it's just reshuffling the same sound to a different bit of the ground.

I still wish they'd get rid of that techno music as they read the team out, we've had it for years and it's quite possibly the worst heap of **** music I've ever heard. It sounds like something a gay, male stripper would take his clothes off to.

The edit they used sounded a bit crap really, most people stopped talking and just looked bemused while it played.

Keep it simple, Eye of the Tiger.

Yeah what is that s**t they play when Mr Shouty reads out the team ? That needs to go along with introducing the stands ( I'm sure we ditched that at one point only to bring it back , why ? )

Caravan of Love needs a proper chance and they need to play more than about 20 seconds of it

yeah lets all sing 'Falling in love with you' even tho' it belongs to several other teams too.
then, depending who we're playing, the opposing fans can join in too!
I'm almost ashamed to say it, but Patty is right.

Wise Men Say makes us look ****ing ridiculous and derivative. Whether you like the song or not, Caravan Of Love is synonymous with the city of Hull. Stick with the ****er.

I'd also like to add that the "East Stand/North Stand" chanting sounded ****ing great from WU again last night.

Most of the crowd didn't have a scooby what was going on when they played it. Those who did had to sit there in awkward silence until the tumbleweed has passed.

I got in a couple of minutes after KO and didn't even catch it, so I can't really comment. Maybe it needs to happen differently. Not sure how to go about it, but we need to stick with it.

What I am certain of is that we need a song that is synonymous with our city and one that other clubs don't sing. Can you name a better example?

I bet those at LFC first thought "Buddy Holly? What The f** are we playing this s**t for?"

Maybe but you don't just play it once , it takes time

It was originally suggested because of how enthusiastically it was received on a ferry crossing. However maybe that had more to do with the amount of alcohol consumed rather than the apparent greatness of the song (which I hated when it was in the charts in the first place)

Is it? Chris Jasper isn't from Hull and the word "Hull" doesn't appear once in the song. <whistle>
