We got beat in the 2 leg semi final by Manchester United even after winning 2-1 at home so ending their 17 match unbeaten run, only 5 years ago, so Mickey Mouse cup, it is not, tit.

Our fans weren’t up for it, we only took 1,500. Could have had over 10,000 there like Boro did.

Doesn’t wholly explain it though. Other clubs have had **** owners but turned out. It was a semi-final of a Cup with a Wembley final the reward. How often have we been involved in one of those?

Up until that semi final, we had avoided all other Premier League opposition.
Funny, we took over 6,000 to Liverpool and Newcastle in the League Cup and to Villa in the FA Cup when we were in a worse position with crap owners.
