Has there been confirmation that Dawson isn't the captain anymore?

I know we all expect Dudgeon to play but i don't think Dawson will appreciate losing his armband and his starting berth in one go.

I wouln't be surprised to see Dawson play on Friday, i hope Dudgeon does but there's been no real indication from NP which one he favours.

Yes. Hobbs when Dawson does not start. Mckenna i would suggest if both Hobbs and Dawson were missing.
But nothing official has been published. yet.

Chester seems a bit young to be considered captain, in a few years he will be in with a shout if he's still here. I think it'll be Mckenna, bit of experience from his time as captain at Forest and PNE and will hopefully be our midfield general. I trust NP's judgement with whoever gets the armband, i wouldn't have considered Hobbs but if he gets then he deserves his chance to show he can be a good captain.

I'd say Dawson is pretty certain for squad captain.

Team captain could be almost anyone, McKenna I reckon when he plays though and can see it being him and Cairney in the middle on Friday.

Hmm. It's my understanding that the term 'club captain' or squad captain usually means the captain outright, and a 'team captain' is just someone who fills in in the case of injury or suspension to the club captain.

New club captain IMO should be Hobbs or McKenna, Dawson was nothing more than a stand-in (or 'team') captain to see the season out after we lost Ash.

It depends on the club/circumstances. In this case the team captain would be someone likely to play every game (which is what we all see). The squad captain would just be an experianced player who's well respected by the players but who isn't going to be involved a lot in the starting lineups on matchdays. It's effectively a way of dropping the team captain for a younger player whilst still recognising their role at the club so you're not disrespecting them by just discarding them.

Sort of the same thing. Team captain is the captain on the day, Club captain is team captain if he plays.
