With Corry Evans gone we need a new captain. Who do we think it will be?
Personally I'm not a fan of the club captain/matchday captain thing so ideally we need a captain who is a guaranteed starter and a proper leader.

So. Who do we think it will be? O'Nien is the obvious candidate but is he a guaranteed starter? Does Browne come in and take the captaincy like Evans did? Neil is a long term option, but I'd give him a couple of years before that burden.

Watching the pre-season games, O'Nien wore the armband at the start of games so I would assume its his.

I reckon the idea of a guaranteed starter is a fundamentally bad idea. Happy for us to announce a club captain. Matchday captain should be chosen once the XI is selected.

O'Nien is the leader of this club. He is the correct club captain and should be captain when he's on the pitch imo. I'm not sure why people say Ballard other than him being a senior centre back and that being a typical choice in the past. I don't see him being one of the main leaders in the club. I'd have Hume above both Ballard and Neil personally.

Browne had the armband in the last friendly. Think we'll see a 'leadership group' of O'Nien, Browne and Neil.

I'd prefer to see a CB brought in to play alongside Ballard rather than using O9. I also think both Ballard and Neil would flourish in the role, whereas O9 would be the same character with or without the armband.
